Cosplay.com Review - DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!

I can say that I will NEVER be purchasing from this site again. I placed an order almost a month ago for the Monica wig in dark brown, and I chose standard shipping (4-7 days.) They charged my debit card, but never sent my purchase. For the past two weeks I have called and sent emails trying to get a tracking number or some kind of update on my order. Both numbers listed on the website result in a busy signal and no one has responded to my emails.

I posted on the Cosplay.com Facebook wall, but it was ignored. I also scrolled through the comments, and found that this has happened to other people.

I posted on the message boards here and I got this as my first answer from a user:
"Welcome to the club - they've been having MANY shipping issues for quite a few months now."

I left a message on Kyle Johnsen's Facebook page, (Admin of Cosplay.com) and I left a new comment on Cosplay.com's Facebook page. I posted about how dissapointed I was in the company, and that I would NEVER purchase from them again. One of my emails was returned right after this. However at 3:30pm yesterday Kyle Johnsen said that he would find out about my order and he never did. I have already emailed him this morning asking for the information.

I have been using this shop for years, but now I will NEVER PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN. This is unacceptable behavior, and now how a business should be run.

They refunded my purchase and sent me my wig because of 'what I was put through.' But guess what, they sent the WRONG color. The con is tomorrow.

Cosplay.com = Fail.

I'm with you. I ordered 2 weeks ago, I have sent 3 emails over the past week and called repeatedly with no answer.

I will ask my credit card to void the purchase if I have to. I have gotten items reliably for years, and now this?

I also foolishly purchased an item here. I had heard good things about it previously and thought that I month ahead of time was ample amount of time. They apparently canceled my order without telling me and decided to keep the money. I'm opening a paypal dispute and going to the better business bureau. It's ridiculous that they can do this, and then decide to throw a sale on merchandise they obviously don't have, or if they do, don't intend to send. If paypal won't help me, I'd doing a charge back through my bank.

I hear ya on this one. My friend tried to buy a wig on here and it was taking FOREVER to get to her! Her wig from China got delivered faster!! Not only that, but when it did get delivered it didn't go to her house, it went to some random address in another city!!! I mean WTF!??? My friends eventually got a refund after I told them to open a dispute with Paypal!

Also a few years ago I ordered a wig and the same thing happened to me only I did get my wig, after all the stress I went through to get it!

You're better off just getting a wig off ebay or from Arda

I am very disappointed in Cosplay.com's shopping experience. I ordered a wig and two ponytail clips on June 04 and opted for Standard Shipping. I didn't hear anything until I received a shipping notification on June 19. I check my tracking number daily and the wig has still not left their facilities. I have called and emailed and have still heard nothing. I'm competing in a masquerade this coming Saturday (July 14).

Do not bother calling their customer service phone number: no one will answer and they do not return calls.

I'm in tears and desperate, but I will never do business with Cosplay.com Shopping again.

Yeah... February was when I ordered my wig and colour ring. Was charged but it was never shipped. I ended up borrowing a friend's wig for the con, thankfully. I ordered it shortly after the site had revamped, so I figured, "Okay, they're probably scrambling figuring their stuff out, so I'll give them time", but enough is enough. No response to my e-mail yet, and it's way too late to open up a dispute with paypal.

Ordered early may, nothing as of yet, 12+ emails, a half dozen angry phone calls... bullshit.

These guys are going to be in a position soon where nobody is going to order from them anymore. Word gets around the internet fast, and the more they screw people over, the worse it's going to get.
Seriously, they need to get their shit together.

Sadly the word does not seem to be getting out. The customer service has always been zero and the problems are ongoing for the last two years now. I keep seeing complaint posts from clueless people who ordered here anyways without trying to contact them and ask questions first.
Treat any wig seller and any website just like you would an e-bay seller you've never used. Make contact first to make sure they are reputable and look for reviews on google and youtube and even here! I do not care how great or cheap a wig is, if i can't talk to a real person about it and get a timely response I'm not ordering from them. Cosplay.com shopping taught me that lesson!

Can anyone think of a better way to warn people not to waste their time/money at cosplay.com shopping?

Sadly, I think the fact that they have the sought-after cosplay.com domain, without any weird modifiers, it auto gives them credibility, deserved or not. And, I suppose, the fact that a long, long time ago they actually got products shipped in a timely manner (not everyone posts in the Commissioner Review Thread; chances are, reviews are going to be old and not recent for ANY commissioner/merchant, etc).

Bumping this since they seem to be pushing for people to buy from them with a "restock" and a promise that everything ships within one business day.

They might have changed their ways, but I invite people who have successful transactions from them to let us know, so they can build their way back up out of the negatives in reputation before I acknowledge that they're legitimate again.

Personally I'm not taking the chance and I don't know any cosplayers who would. There are simply better more reliable places to order from now and if you really feel like taking a chance e-bay and taobao are full of random sellers that may save you some money.

I've ordered three wigs from them between December of last year to August, and none of them have had any problems or shipping delays. My last one was a clover from their pre-order sale. Minus not sending me the "It's been shipped" email meaning I had to look up the tracking number to check that all was well, it went out, processed and shipped right on time as they stated it would be. Just like all of my wigs from here.
