Bigger Nose (prosthetics or makeup?)

So, my sister is putting together a cosplay for Captain Haddock from The Adventures of Tintin and we want to make her nose appear larger.

Based on a suggestion we saw on this forum in an older topic, we bought some liquid latex and used it in combination with torn up cotton balls, layering it carefully until her nose was the size we wanted it to be. Problem was, when we applied (clinique) foundation to blend in the cotton with her skin, it looked really obviously like a fake nose.
Is there a different makeup that would be better for us to use? Or a different method of making the prosthetic?

Alternatively, if the prosthetic doesn't work out, how could we make her nose look larger through solely makeup?

Any feedback you guys can offer would be appreciated :} Also, if you need more info/refs, just ask~

There are a couple of other ways you could make a fake nose;

1. Buy an existing prosthetic (I'm not sure where you could buy one but I wouldn't imagine it would set you back more than a tenner, try a costume shop, online or otherwise).

2. Mould your own using latex (which would allow you to make sure it's exactly what you need. This would be a rather long process, but you can find videos on how to do it on youtube (just search for "how to make a latex nose" and you'll find several).
Me on twitter.

To do; Dark Link (80%) Link (20%) Sheik (?)

Can't write, can't draw. Can code, a little.

Since you have little experience in sculpting and casting appliances I too suggest a pre made nose. Slicone or 3-d Gel could be used to build up a nose but that is large and the Woochie recommended is a good brand and pretty inexpensive for the time and trouble you'll spend making a nose.

The latex and cotton method is great for making wound effects but less so for something like a nose. Even now this method is used less often as there are just so many better products on the market.
