@Seifer -

Fat Suit: I did try on the fat suit. I think I may end up trying to take away a bit of fat as well in the waist area. Maybe a combination of both adding some to the suit and taking away will work. That will be my next thing to do in this project once the head is done.

Workout: Trying describes my situation as well, lol. I'm hoping to go bike riding today in between working on cosplay stuff. We'll see. It's supposed to start raining again, so I don't know.

Scissors: Same here. I do have my one pair of nicer fabric scissors that are probably due for some sharpening and then several pairs of cheapo ones for cutting other things. Many times I end up breaking the plastic handles when I put too much force into it.

Fall shoot: Does that place in Oregon (keep forgetting the name of the park) look pretty nice in the fall? I really like the wide angle shots to show off the background environments. A similar method was used for the Serah from FF13 in the cathedral shots you once showed me.

Terra: I definitely could sympathize with Terra more than other characters. Like you said, I think it's because she put in more effort to get out of a bad situation rather than just whining about it.

I'll have to figure out how to find someone with the Shih Tzu. It would be funny for a "Gestahl, the dog lover" photo considering his personality. Thanks again for the tutorial. On one of the Acksonl videos, it seemed like I saw someone pull off Old Snake from MGS4 pretty well with aging.

Fiberglass: The head was a pretty daunting and complex task and I just have a little bit left that I'm hoping to finish today. I just need to sew some more of the fabric together. I really do like how it's coming out though. I hope to have some pictures on FB soon.

Something Dissidia Related: I think Bruce Wayne was worked out, but nothing like Arnold that his Batman suit would suggest. As for the Joker and Kefka picture, you are in luck. I did take one at San Japan in 2010 - http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8191/8...e68f0b27_b.jpg This was before I had my dSLR camera. They both did their laugh at the same time so everyone could hear it. It was hilarious!

Cosplay Updates: Your bracers looked really nice that you posted yesterday. The new ones look much crisper than the old ones - even though the old ones looked nice too. As I said earlier, Pen Pen progress photos should be around the corner. I'll also show some making of photos with the final product. I must have had 20 or so pieces to sew together over the head. The lego set sounds like a good idea - never would have thought of that. But like you said - it's expensive. Anything on Ebay?

Sabin: Terra had a sense of humor here and there (another reason I like her) unlike some other characters from different games. Zidane and Garnet definitely did too. What kind of wig did you end up getting? A sword for Edgar could definitely be cool. Another cool weapon to do would be his BioBlaster. It seemed like I used that quite a bit. As soon as Cecil and Raku is done is when I plan to dive head first into Gestahl and Zora Link. As for Setzer, probably sometime after that. There isn't too much armor for Setzer, but lots of sewing. He does have a CG reference though. Another one for scarves and Bullion trim - http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__.../55/Setzer.png

@ FinalEva:

Fat Suit: That sounds like a good plan I think. Hopefully the fat suit will be easy enough to work with.

Workout: Ha ha, don't worry. I think so long as you do something everyday or every other day, you are fine. I know for me personally, building the routine is the tough part, but I am determined. I did arms and abs today! Hopefully you get a chance to go on a bike ride though and hopefully it's not in the rain.

Scissors: I think it's a good idea to have a few pairs. If you are like me, I often lose my scissors when working on a project, so it's always good to know where a second or even third pair are in case you lose those too. :P As for sharpening, I bought a new pair and they were already dull and I am not sure if i can sharpen them.

Fall shoot: Ha ha, yeah the park has some really nice trees that I think will work. I am not sure I can make it this weekend or the next. It may have to be the last weekend in October. I hope the leaves are still there!! I agree though, I like the wide angles look really nice for those shots though. We will see what we can do.

Terra: I do agree. It's nice to see a female character be so strong and not a total wimp.

I agree, the "Dog Lover" photo would be hilarious because it's so opposite of his personality. I will have to find a shot of that Old Snake. I have seen some people do some pretty crazy makeup jobs.

Fiberglass: I am so glad it's almost over for you. it sounds like it was a pretty trying project, but I am sure it will be well worth the effort. Hopefully you have learned lots of new techniques that might help you with Raku in the future. I look forward to pictures though!

Something Dissidia Related: As for Bruce, I almost wonder if the muscles on the suit were to hide his body type as well. Just a though. :P As for the photo, that's awesome!! I wish i could have seen that in person. Along the same lines, this would also be funny to see. http://pinterest.com/pin/5699936999323257/

Cosplay Updates: Thank you so much! I think the new trim and details really help make the designs pop. Nothing against the old ones, but this new armor looks much better in my opinion. :P As for Pen Pen, I love progress shots, so that will be exciting. I hope you are able to finish him up today. As for the legos, I did manage to find some at a decent price on eBay but it sure took some searching.

Sabin: I agree, Terra was quite a character. I have to admit she is one of my favorotes. I also agree too that Zidane and Garnet had a good sense of humor too. One thing I particularly liked about them was how innocent and child like they were. I mean they were mature when they needed to be, but there was still a sense of innocence and playfullness that isn't often seen in FF characters. As for Edgar and Sabin's wigs, I got two Magnum XL from Arda. They were back ordered when I ordered them, which means I might be lucky to see them before next year. :P As for the Edgar weapons, I would love to make as many as possible. I think it would be fun. I will look into the BioBlaster though!

Your Upcoming Projects: I am so excited to see your newly wonderflexed Cecil armor. You still have quite a ways to go on that right? As for Raku, I really hope we can all do a big shoot at Fanime. If you would like, since Sakura con seems like it might be pretty busy, I can just wait to wear Yoko at Fanime too. I cannot wait for you to start Gestahl and Zora Link too. Man you are going to be busy though!! :P As for Setzer, it is nice that there isn't a lot of armor, but I think the detail work will probably move about as slow as an armored cosplay. Still though, I am all for more Setzer cosplays! He doesn't get enough love. You are right though, that's a TON of trim!!

@Seifer-

Fat Suit: I have the basic body suit put together for Pen Pen and the fat suit is working pretty well so far. I'm glad I got it.

Workout: I'm usually doing dog walks and bike rides right now when the weather is nice. Seattle weather has returned here, so I may have to do elliptical indoors to keep up. The good news is that I am now half way to my weight goal for Sakura-con. I am happy that you are determined as well.

Fall shoot: Right now, the bike trails are completely covered in fall leaves. I think it's usually sometime in November when all the leaves are completely gone, but I'm not sure. I would think you should be okay at the end of October still. Fall does happen pretty fast, though.

Terra: I could even do a shot with Akiba as Gestahl. While he doesn't look like Gestahl, it would still be hilarious as the "dog" lover photo. If I find a photo of Old Snake, I'll post it.

Fiberglass: The head ended up looking better than I expected and only needed small adjustments at the end. I wasn't sure how it was going to work out while I was sewing the pieces all together because I never did use the technique before. With Raku, I will be needing to make a bigger head - which I still haven't figured out how I will do quite yet. The fabric might be easier to put together since the curves won't be as tight - except in the nose.

Something Dissidia Related: That very well could be the case for Bruce. As for that photo of Kekfa and Joker, it was coincidence how they both met at the same place. That Kefka was part of a bigger FF6 group that had Locke, Opera Celes, Setzer, and Relm. I like that photo that you showed me. It would be funny to see Kefka and Joker flicking each other off.

Cosplay Updates: It seems everything looks a bit smoother too on the new bracers. As for wonderflex armor, Spencer is almost finished doing most of the armor and helmet for Shadow. It's looking pretty nice and hopefully I will have some photos of it pretty soon. I think I showed you some progress already.

As for Pen Pen, now I just need to do the backpack thing and sign in the front. If I have time, I'll do my large beer can prop before the con. We'll see, though. I'm glad you were able to find legos, though.

Sabin: Terra has always been up toward the top in terms of favorite anime / game characters. I agree about Zidane and Garnet. When you describe their innocence, I always think of the scene when they are on the small boat toward the middle of the game. That's too bad the wigs were out of stock. Hopefully they don't take too long to ship. Like Link, it seems like Edgar is the prop master. Besides the chainsaw, I think the bioblaster was my favorite one to use.

Upcoming Projects: I still do have quite a ways on the wonderflexed Cecil. It will be full speed ahead on that after Aki-con. That will probably be my main project for Sakura-con at this point. As for Raku, I can probably do that one between Sakura-con and Fanime. We could also try to do some 12k shots at the Tea Garden in SF before Fanime if time permits. Gestahl and Zora Link will both be pretty big projects. Setzer will definitely be pretty heavy in the sewing. He was one of the major characters in the 2nd half of the game, so I'm all for showing him some appreciation. I would just need to be able to sneak a Casino shot of him at some time. As for applique, do you usually machine sew or hand sew that? I was going to ask that.

@ FinalEVA:

Fat Suit: I am glad to hear it's working out. Your con is this weekend right?

Workout: Congrats on the halfway point to your weight goal! That's excellent news! The weather is finally changing here too, so hopefully it will be easier for me to stick with my routine.

Fall shoot: I am going to see if maybe we can take a quick trip up there for a shoot. If not, there is always next year in the spring. I think any shot you do with Gestahl and his dog would be hilarious!

Fiberglass: That's awesome!! It's so nice when things turn out better than expected!! As far as Raku goes, maybe you can talk to some people who have made similar cosplays. Maybe the one Raku cosplayer on the 12K thread or even people who have cosplayed Fox or Donkey Kong. Maybe they can help you think of ideas you might be overlooking.

Something Dissidia Related: Sometimes the things that happen at random chance are the best! I am so looking forward to having a Kefka in our group.

Cosplay Updates: I thought Spencer's Shadow looked awesome!! I hope he is excited to wear it for the con. I am sure you guys are going to have a lot of fun. It's been a while since I have been for one and that itch is starting to really bug me. :P

Sabin & Edgar: Once Eric is finished with my Yoko sword I am going to see if he can work on Edgar. It would be nice to have these things finished well before the con, just in case there are any mishaps. The wigs did arrive though and they are a gorgeous color!!! I think Tifaia said she got the same color for her Celes. All the blondes will look like family in our group. :P

Upcoming Projects: It sounds like Cecil will keep you pretty busy for a while. I can understand. The wonderflex process is pretty slow. I hope you manage to finish him before Sakura con! It would be fun to do a few more Dissidia shots. As for 12K, I guess I will just see what my schedule looks like... it sounds like Sakura con was getting pretty crowded cosplay wise... so maybe it would be better if I just saved her for Fanime. As for shoots at the Tea Garden, maybe I can take an extra day off from work and we can meet there. As for Setzer, that's a massive sewing project for sure. Especially if you plan on having the two toned colors in your coat. For applique I always machine sew it (otherwise it would just be hand embroidery, which is poke slow). I am not sure how it works for your machine, but basically I change my stitch to the zig zag, shorten the length and width of the stitch and it mimics a satin stitch, which equals applique. If we can make it up to Seattle in December, I can show you in person, if you need me to that is.

@ Everyone else: Hi there!! I hope you are all making great progress.

Double post, sorry! :P So I was able to do a Terra shoot this weekend, and though I did get a few pictures, it went rather poorly. A piece of my sword busted, the area where we wanted to shoot was covered in rude/pushy photographers, and I found that I need to make some changes to my dress. It was a learning experience at least. For my Terra dress though, I used the cheapo plastic boning and I am really starting to see why most people recommend the spiral steel. The plastic has started bowing is really weird areas and I want to fix that before it messes up my embroidery or something. So!! My next project for these few months is to redo the boning for my dress... oh and make new earrings because my new ones busted before I could even finish them. I am making them out of fimo clay this time (yeah no messing around now!). So hopefully I will have some more progress to post here for a while. I hope everyone else is doing well!

Thought I posted here, but I guess not.

@Seifer -

Fat Suit: I just need to fill in the area between the chest and the belly for the fat suit. I could probably remove the arms and use the stuffing for that. The arms were causing the fins to bunch up.

Workout: Right now the workout has slowed down a bit since the weather got rainier, but I have continued to lose weight through dieting. I've lost 17 of the 30 lbs I want to before Sakura-con. Need to pick up the workout again because these last 13 lbs are going to be much more difficult.

Fiberglass: I'm hoping to use the fiberglass medium more in the future as it is pretty nice and solid. The only thing I don't like about my Pen Pen head is that it's a little cocked to one side when I wear it. I'm not sure how to adjust that except maybe add some padding in the hard hat to balance it out. I was thinking of doing Raku's head similarly to Tatter Paxie in that thread. She was at Fanime, right? We may have two Tatterpaxies this year.

Something Dissidia Related: I think Pat (our Kefka) is hoping to have his done before Sakura-con. We'll see. He is guaranteed to be scaring some small children with his laugh. I also think it would be cool to see if we can get someone to do Kefka in his final boss form as well.

Cosplay updates: Lots of people liked his Shadow at the last con. I was happy to go to a con again and it looks like the next one for me will be Sakura-con. When will your next con be?

Sabin & Edgar: I forgot if you told me or not, but what is he making Yoko's sword out of? I bet the new Edgar is going to look pretty cool. I can definitely see wanting to test these costumes out before the con. It sounds like it was a good idea with Terra this weekend. I'm happy the wigs arrived.

Upcoming projects: I just have to put a couple hours per day into doing this Cecil cosplay, and I should have him finished. I do need to make sure everything is going to fit well before going to the Con like you said. I think doing 12k around Fanime would be a good idea. Another Reference for Setzer - http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/0...r_ii_super.jpg It looks like some more scarf fun. For Pen Pen's nostrils, I did the tight zig zag stitch lid you were saying. Jennie did that with my sewing machine once to make some basic embroidered curves, and it worked pretty well.

Terra shoot and dress: Double post forgiven (should have responded faster). Is the sword going to be fixable? That's too bad about the photographers. I had the issue at Aki-con as well. When I was shooting the one who was cosplaying Nu Wa, there were some that just butted in and started telling her how to pose without asking me if it was okay (since I was with her initially). Is replacing the boning going to require seam ripping the entire dress apart? It's good the embroidery hasn't gotten too messed up. I suppose clay should work. It seems like resin is so touchy.

@ FinalEVA:

You are forgiven for not posting. :P I do that a lot actually.

Fat Suit: Ah okay, so that should be an easy fix right? Other than that Pen Pen was a success?

Workout: Awesome progress!!! That's very exciting!! I am trying to pick the workout back up as well, but like you mentioned, it's tough to step it up with the rainy weather. I haven't really lost anything worth mentioning, but I am hoping that if I really stick to this, maybe I can lose the weight I want by Sakura con as well.

Fiberglass: As for Pen Pen's head, the adding padding to balance it out sounds like it should work. As for Tatter's method for Raku, what exactly did she do anyway? Was it much different from your Pen Pen? And yes, she was at Fanime last year. Oh and speaking of fiberglass, I think you saw my post about doing Calhoun, I am curious if maybe that would be a good place to try using fiberglass. Are you able to weather it well enough?

Something Dissidia Related: I am so excited to see Pat be Kefka. I have always wanted a Kefka in the group. I tried forever to convince my brother, but he wasn't going for it. And you are right, it would be cool to do Final form Kefka. Those wings would be super expensive though!!

Cosplay updates: That's good that his Shadow was well accepted. My next con is actually January. It's one of the smaller cons I go to, but it will be nice just to go to one again. Then after that it's Sakura. Which I don't mind, I have a lot of work to do.

Sabin & Edgar: Yoko's sword is another wood and I am going to build the cross guard with some kind of clay. Honestly I am really tossing around the idea of using fimo clay for it... but we will see. If not, it will just be paperclay as usual. As for Edgar, I am very excited to finish him. I will probably start the wig process soon so we can do a mini shoot for him as well.

Upcoming projects: That's awesome! I think it's a good idea to try and do a little a day. You will have him finished before you know it if you keep up that pace. As for 12 Kingdoms, it's really what you guys want to do. It sounded like Spencer wanted to have his King En ready by then, and if he isn't going to Fanime, I would be willing to bring Yoko to Sakuracon so we can at least get a few shots together. Hah! I love that shot of Setzer. ^ ^ And you are right, it's another scarf quest! Oh so you were able to use applique on Pen Pen, well awesome! It's actually really useful once you get the hang of it.

Terra shoot and dress: The sword should be fine, thanks for asking. I already have some new clay drying at the moment. I used model magic this time, hoping I might have better luck with it. As for the photographers, it was pretty annoying, but I guess the lesson is, don't try to do a shoot at a public park on a Saturday. sorry to hear about your Aki-con experience. Some people are just so rude. It makes me wonder if they even realize how rude they are being. As for the Terra dress, the outside of the dress will be able to stay together, thankfully. I will have to take the lining apart, remove the old boning, make a new layer for the boning to be sewn into and then put the lining over that. Basically instead of being two thin layers, it will be one thick layer and two thin. I think it will help the dress hold shape better. Plus the spiral steel boning follows the shape rather than bowing away from it like the plastic does. As for the clay earrings, I think overall they will just be more structurally sound, which is what I need. I am too rough on my cosplay stuff sometimes. ^ ^

@Seifer:

New Profile Pic! Looks Great!

Workout: It's been about 4 days of rain to a day of sun these days. It's so much more fun to do workout outside rather than inside - but I have to persist. I'm sure you can make your goal! I know it can be difficult for a while. It didn't seem like I lost anything for the first two months.

Fiberglass: I'm hoping I can make something work. I wonder if I could glue the head netting in the hard hat in a different location on one side where it attaches to the hard hat. As for Tatterpaxie's method, here is the picture of how she did it - http://tatterpixie.suniver.net/rakus...hun-041010.jpg I looked at a larger reference of Calhoun, and it does look like she has some scratches in her armor. It looks like a pretty big project, actually. I do think fiberglass can work for that. It's pretty easy to scratch up, although you may be dulling a few exactos / razor blades. I haven't tried weathering it yet, though. It also looks like she also has quite a few LED's. That should be fun to have integrated in there.

Something Dissidia Related: I'm really happy to have a Kefka as well! I was hoping we could find someone to do it. Those wings would be really expensive with the number of feathers required and it would be difficult to attach.

Cosplay Updates: Oh yeah, that's right. I think you were mentioning SAC Anime in January. I've got quite a bit of work as well for Sakura-con as well. I have quite a bit more armor to make before then. I'm hoping I can finish up the body armor soon.

Sabin & Edgar: Sounds like a good plan for Yoko's sword. Is Fima much heavier than paper clay. Also, does it not crack as easily. That's a problem I had with paper clay, although it's light and easily sandable. Good luck on finishing Edgar.

Upcoming Projects: The only thing is it can be difficult to do the outside stuff when it's raining. I'm not sure how far I'll get on the weapons, but at least the armor will be nice and his side weapon. That would be nice to have King En done by then. I do wish I could get Raku done by then, but I think that will have to wait a bit. I could go easy and do Setzer's sprite form, but I would rather have all the extra details since it's an old school character. I had a few kinks using appliqué in fleece. It seemed to skip stitches once in a while. Is that the tension?

Terra shoot and dress: That's good you were able to save the sword. Model magic may work better than paper clay (that's what you used?) From what you told me, it sounds like most of them were trying to shoot scenery rather than models. I do remember I did Jennie's shoot on a week day and it was much better. It was difficult to not have other visitors in the background on the weekend. That can ruin a shoot with a mideval character such as Zelda. It sounds like quite a project for the dress. Does steel boning make things more comfortable as well? I think all the trips to cons, I can be a little rough at times with the cosplay stuff. I can see that as well.

@ FinalEVA:

Thanks!! I forgot to tweak it when I got home last night... it's a little grainy, but I will fix it.

Workout: I can understand wanting to workout outside, it tough being cooped up all the time. But like you said, you have to keep at it!! I have managed to stick with my routine all week this week and I even inspired Eric to start his workout routine. I am really hoping that I manage to stick with it and reach my goal. The first months are always the hardest right?

Fiberglass: Will you have to pull apart the inside of Pen Pen's head in order to attach everything differently or will you just need to add more glue so it's sitting differently?? As for Tatter's method, that's pretty cool!! It looks like it's just layered foam. Ha ha you went and checked out Calhoun huh? Honestly I think it would be a really fun project. Like you said, it has the cool LED's and such. I am not sure when I would have time for this project, but it's still fun to think about the possibility. When we visit in December maybe I can take a closer look at your fiberglass stuff to get an idea of how the material works and such.

Something Dissidia Related: Oh yeah, the feathers alone would cost a lot. I am not sure if color ups the price or anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if they charged more for metallic gold feathers. And attaching those to the cosplayer would be tricky, isn't final form Kefka bare chested??

Cosplay Updates: Yep! Sac Anime is quickly sneaking up on us. I am not sure if I will have anything new for this con, but we will see I guess. As far as armor goes, I think if you stick to a good pace of working on it a little everyday, you will get there before you know.

Sabin & Edgar: Hmm fimo clay is quite a bit denser and so it probably is a tad heavier. It's a little tough to work with at first, but I think the fact that tough to begun with will mean that it might be more appropriate for my props. You do have to bake fimo clay, but once baked you can sand it. I am actually not only going to try and use it for my Yoko sword, but probably for my SS Zelda bracelets and my Terra earrings. Like you said, paperclay is just too easily broken and for me, that just doesn't work.

Upcoming Projects: Oh yeah, the rain makes it tough for you to work on fiberglass stuff, which you have to be outside for. Honestly I really think that props can sometimes take as much time as the actual costume. Personally I would say get the costume done and if you have time, work on a prop, if not, wait until next time. Don't stress yourself out by trying to do both. Personally I think Seattle would have more appropriate places to do a shoot for 12 Kingdoms than San Jose does, so it would be really cool if we could all get our costumes finished in time. But no rush really. Fanime is still a good place to debut costumes. As for Setzer, I agree with you on having all the crazy wraps. That's just a part of his character, you can't leave it out! As for appliqueing fleece and the stitches skipping, it could be tension, it could be the needle wasn't thick enough, or that there was too much fabric. I know that my old machine really struggled with light stretch fabrics and used to skip stitches. You could do a troubleshoot search on google for similar problems.

Terra shoot and dress: I just used model magic on the piece that was broken, so the rest is still paperclay. I think it will be a while before I use that medium again. Like it was said above, it just breaks too easily. As for the shoot, Eric was the only photographer with a model (me), everyone else was just shooting leaves or picking them off the tree and out of the dirt. It's Ashland... people there are dumb that way. :P I can really see how any public places like that should probably be visited on a week day. I think everyone just goes to the park on the weekends, and like you said, that can really ruin a shoot to have some bozo standing around int he background of your shot. As for the Terra dress, the steel boning will help hold it in place as well as hold shape better. Unlike plastic boning, steel boning follows the shape, and doesn't bow away from it. I do agree though, con trips are rough on cosplays. I feel like I have to restyle my wigs every time I come home.

@Seifer -

Looks like you were able to fix the profile pic and it's really nice now.

Workout: I'm working more hours since everyone needs their photos for the holidays. Between doing job apps, cosplay, and working out - it can be difficult to juggle sometimes. Dog walks lately have been my main source, but I need to do more than that. It's good you were able to get Eric to start. I do think the first few months are definitely the hardest.

Fiberglass: Well, the head restraint for the hard hat is actually detachable from the hat itself, so I'm thinking I can just rig it into a different position. It's a bit difficult to explain, but I could probably show you when you come up in December. I still need to watch the Wreck it Ralph movie, but I really want to see it. Maybe there is a character I can join you in that. I could definitely show you how the fiberglass works if you want and how to apply it and what not. Do you have a respirator by chance? If you don't, I think the the disposable ones that cover your nose and mouth would be okay until you are doing it a lot.

Something Dissidia Related: I'm not sure what the price would be on colored feathers. I have ordered feathers at one time, but I forgot how much they cost. Yeah, he is bare chested - http://images.wikia.com/finalfantasy.../Kefka_god.jpg That would be difficult to attach wings.

Cosplay updates: One reason I want to get up earlier is to do some cosplay before work. It's always easier said than done. After work, I'm generally just so exhausted.

Sabin & Edgar: I don't mind my props weighing a bit more if they are sturdier. Maybe my Duke sword was a bit extreme in terms of weight (made out of oak). I guess that's the difference with Sculpey. Sculpey didn't seem sandable, even though I never really tried it. I'm probably not going to do paper clay so much anymore. Seems to brittle.

Upcoming Projects: I'm thinking I may just string a tarp up on my balcony in order to do the fiberglass stuff. It rains so much here, that it's difficult to wait until it isn't raining. I think it's sometimes best to see how the costume itself works out before adding the prop. I did think the Bellevue Botanical Gardens would work for debuting the 12 Kingdoms stuff. There really seemed to be lots of areas that looked similar. Do you have any more to do with Yoko besides the sword? I wonder if a castle would work for that cosplay. Maybe the Suzzalo Library again? That place - since I got to visit it - would be perfect for Zelda. I'll have to look into why the stitch was skipping. I was using just a universal needle, so that could be the reason.

Terra shoot and dress: I would think that in Lithia Park, there would be lots more people with models than just trying to shoot nature. Especially for the time of year it was. Was it raining while you were there? I've definitely learned that week days are the best for those places. On Weekends, it's everyone with their kids. I do remember some kids liking Jennie's TP Zelda cosplay at the time. That makes sense about the steel boning following the shape better. That will probably put less resistance stress on the fabric. I always seem to have to touch up props when I get back from a con. Maybe I just need to seal them better.

I was, thank you! The grainy look was annoying me. :P

Workout: I think because of the holidays, your work hours are only going to get crazier. I am glad you are at least getting some kind of exercise in there though. I have been doing really well this month. I am just trying to stick with it at this point. I worry that I might get off track when they fattening holidays roll around. :P

Fiberglass: I think that makes sense, I am sure I will understand better when I see it in person though. Either way, I hope it's an easy fix for you. I highly recommend Wreck it Ralph though, that movie was awesome and very funny. It would be really cool if you found someone to be too! Eric was thinking of cosplaying Ralph, maybe we can get a little group together! As for a mask, I actually don't have one, but I was going to ask if those little painter ones work well enough. I wouldn't be doing this until I could be outside for sure.

Something Dissidia Related: Sarah is actually the expert on feathers, not me, but it seems like they are pretty pricey. She does know of a good site where you can get bulk feather though. I just think getting feathers for nine wigs is going to cost a lot even if you do buy in bulk. :P As for attaching the wings, the only thing I could think of is if the Kefka were wearing a body suit and the wings attach underneath the bodysuit.

Cosplay updates: Ha ha, I totally hear you there. I attempted to get up early this morning and failed. :P It's just to hard to find the time or the energy to do anything.

Props: Like you, I prefer a prop with more weight if it makes it more durable. Wow though, an oak sword, you are crazy! :P Lately I have been tossing around the idea of how to make my SS Zelda harp... and the more I think about it, the more I think I have to use paperclay. I might try for a different brand of it and see if that makes a difference. Usually I use the Pearl paperclay, but maybe they have tougher types and I just didn't know.

Upcoming Projects: Putting a tarp up is a great idea!!! I think that would work really well for you and at least you wouldn't have to wait until the weather was agreeable to get some fiberglass work done. Speaking of which, I may ask for a mini tutorial or something of that sort when I visit in December. Just fair warning. I am so excited to see these Gardens. It looked very appropriate for 12 Kingdoms!! For Yoko I just have the sword and the sheath left to make. I was thinking of trying to get some work done on it over the holidays. The building designs in 12K seem very Asian influenced, it's really too bad that cool garden in Portland charges so darn much for a shoot. >: ( That would have been perfect. As for the library, I am so glad you think it will work out for Zelda. I am so excited for more fun shoots!!

As for your skipping stitches, if the material is light, try using a ballpoint needle and see if that helps.

Terra shoot and dress: You would think there would be more of that, especially in Ashland, but who knows. It actually didn't rain on us, which is a surprise because it's rained on me for just about every shoot I have done. :P I think from now on I will just try to schedule shoot sin the middle of the week. It;s just too annoying and frustrating to have some bozo standing in your shot, even when you ask them to move. I do have to admit it was cool when we did Ganon and Puppet Zelda that the kids liked my costume. I really think the boning will help make my Terra dress sit better and look better overall. I am excited to give her a few touch-ups. And as far as fixing props after cons, I don't think it's just you that has this problem. :P

Update: This weekend I will be heading to the store for my fimo clay and fabric for my dress, so hopefully I can get started on that soon. I hope everyone else is doing well and that you guys come back soon!!

Now that I'm playing FF6 again, it looks just like Terra's profile pic in the status screen. Very nice!

Workout: I think I told you, but one of our associates quit, so now there is only two of us working the studio during these holidays. I'm hoping I can make it through this week without too much weight gain. It's difficult this time of the year to keep up workout plans.

Fiberglass: I may be seeing Wreck It Ralph if I don't get out too late from work on Wednesday. I'm hoping to anyway. I'll have to see who I want to be for that movie. The painter one would be okay for doing it once in a while. If you are doing it a lot, then I would definitely get a good mask. I'll hopefully be able to set up the tarp to protect from the rain when I show you.

Something Dissidia Related: If I do need some feathers, that would definitely be cool. I have seen some pretty cool Beldandy wings from the Ah My Goddess. As for Kefka wearing the wings, that would probably be the way to go with the bodysuit. I don't see anyway else for doing that.

Cosplay updates: When I have grand plans of getting up in the morning, I usually end up setting my alarm to the time I need to get up for work. Don't feel bad there.

Props: I was a little tired after carrying around that Dein Nomos all day for Duke. I may do something with foam and fiberglass next time if I do that weapon again. As for paperclay, I've usually just used what they have available at Michael's. I know there are ways to make paperclay, but I've never done that before.

Upcoming Projects: The Weather isn't agreeable 90% of the time here, so I'll probably do that. I'll definitely show you some of the fiberglassing process when you come here. It's a bit similar to the video / tutorial I showed you last night, but I definitely am not as advanced as the Magic Knight guy. What did you say you were making the sheath out of for 12K? That's good it's almost done. Do you remember what the charges were for the Portland gardens? The photos you showed me of them definitely look nice of that place.

I'll try that for my stitch skipping issues.

Terra Shoot and Dress: That's good that you got to avoid the rain. Cloudy shoots, though, aren't too bad, especially in the middle of the day. It's usually better than the harsh mid day light. The middle of the week is generally better for doing shoots. I think for our snow shoot, it shouldn't be a problem for crowds. Most will probably think we are pretty crazy for doing that I'm guessing Kids liked Puppet Zelda as well? Did any of them get scared at all from the contacts? That's good that this will help with the way the Terra dress fits. I definitely have a few props that need some touching up right now. I may put a layer of super thin epoxy resin as a sealant over some.

Hopefully you were able to get some stuff this weekend for your various projects. Good luck with them.

Wow I didn't even think of that! But thanks!!

Workout: Oh yeah you did mention that. That does put a wrench in your other plans. I am not sure how busy you are there at work, but maybe you can take ten minutes to do squats or lunges or something like that. I do that sometimes when I am waiting for the stupid copier to warm up. In any case, just be careful and you should be okay. As for me, I didn't do as well as I would have liked last week, but I plan on making up for it this week. I would like to stay as active as possible over this holiday, so here's hoping I don't have any weight gain either!

Fiberglass: Hooray! I hope you get the chance to see it. I think you will really enjoy it. I actually think all gamers would enjoy that movie. As for fiberglass, that would be awesome to have you show me a bit when I visit. Thanks!

Something Dissidia Related: The website has quite a variety of feathers, so you can do some really cool looking wings if you have the time and money. As for Kefka, that will have to be a project for further down the road if anyone ever agrees to it.

Mornings: Ha! Glad I am not the only one. It sure makes me feel lazy though. :P

Props: I can see how that would be tiring to carry something like that around. I think you have to be super careful with props because you have to figure you won't really have anywhere to put them... and if they are heavy, it means you will get tired a lot faster. I usually buy the Michaels paperclay as well but I had no idea you could make it. That's kind of cool.

Upcoming Projects: For 12K sword, I will probably make a wonderflex sheath and just do the raised details in foam as usual. As for the Portland gardens, there are two actually. The Chinese Garden says you can rent it for 1.5 hours for $250 and the Japanese Garden says they don't allow portrait photography. They have it defined as family gatherings, weddings, etc... but I wonder if they might make an exception for what we are doing.

Terra Shoot and Dress: I actually prefer cloudy shoots, just because I usually can't see in direct sunlight unless I am wearing contacts. As for the snow shoot, I agree that we should probably be fine. If there is anyone up there, they will probably think we (mostly me) are nuts. Oddly enough, most kids did like Puppet Zelda. I can't remember too many of them being scared of me though. As for your props, that sounds like a great idea!

I was able to get to the store this weekend and I think I have everything I need. My little box of crafts is all packed and ready to go. I am really hoping I come back home with a lot of stuff completed!!

Wow it's been a while since I visited here @_@

So, new Kuja project. Not technically Dissidia, but it's a battle-damaged version of him
And I bought Ultimecia's dress fabric!
