When you got scammed....
Hi everyone,
I commissioned a prop more than 45 days ago and my deadline is problaby gone because it had to be ready for October 10 so that i had it in time.... The commissioner (i still don't want to say his name because i want to wait and try to fix this situation) answered to my questions very quickly everytime, but now he is.....VANISHED! Exacly when he had to send me my prop (that i also payed a lot because it is an hard one....) so i think i am getting scammed...... Now, i payed it as a purchase using paypal, but more than 45 days are passed......what can i do now? I lost my money and I'm screwed? |

What do you mean by Vanished? Not answering or offline all the time?
First where did you get your stuff? And I'm sure there must be some option where you can report that you are waiting so long time and there's nothing. I think even paypal has this option... or not? |

PayPal has this option but you can report people only if you report them in 45 days from the payment |

Write maybe another e-mail and wait yet. Hmmm hard to say. If it's via some kind of website maybe you should report it to I don't know police or some customer's department.

IF he still doesn't answer, go to your bank.
How much are you out? If it's quite a bit, the bank will try to get the money back. If it was very very cheap, I don't know how much they will do..

Yeah, I would write him another email saying that this is his final chance to get in contact with him before you get your bank to charge back. Many times this gets people's attention. Good luck!

I usually give people time to respond in about a week or so - after so much time I mark them as unresponsive and file them accordingly in a folder. Sometimes, people are just too busy to respond within minutes or a couple of days (work, school, life, etc). And if I can't respond so many emails, I always try to make an update on facebook, to let everyone know that I'm still alive (it is where my portfolio is currently at and where I can post on the go for any news and updates).
Even with Etsy, I try to contact all my buyers to let them know what's going on and when to expect their shipment and/or try to make a shop update. Some of the emails I get also end up in my spam folder, which I don't check very often, since it *is* a spam folder, but occasionally there is an email or two that isn't spam.
