I'm trying to think of different methods to go about making a wig like this, it is the char on the left. Everything that I can think of I can't figure out really how to attach it to the wig. I'm sure the best method will probably be to have the lightning bolts attached to a headband under the wig probably?

I'd like to actually make it out of hair since I saw some people just cut the shape out and honestly I don't like that look. I'm hoping to glue a lot of fibers to something in that shape but I can't figure out what would be best to glue it to. This will probably be the most complicated wig I have done once I figure out what to do XD. So suggestions?

Glue the wefts around the cardboard.

Yeah, those are not headphone's but I can see how they could be mistaken as headphone's. Okay I didn't see that girls method when I had looked. I would think cardboard would get damaged easy but i guess the glue kinda stiffens it up enough? I've made drills before in the past so I think I'm gonna kinda try and combine those two methods. I guess since it's halloween too I can test it out on cheap wigs first. I'm sorta trying to go for as natural a look as possible, with that shape.

If you want to make it look like the hair is shaped that way, then get craft foam and cover it in wig fiber. It's flexible and is used to put wigs in crazy shapes. I'm not sure if hairspray will be enough as an adhesive or if you will need to use caulk. Once you build the bolts, sew them into your base wig and use hairspray to blend the wig into the bolts.

OH thank you I didn't think of using craft foam. I doubt it will be enough to hold it on fibers like to move around so much.

You're probably right about that. This wig is the best reference I know of where lots of the craft foam was used, but Katie's low on details. I'll scour her book for you.

EDIT: I must have imagined that there was a full description of that wig. Anyhoo, the book says that you can use hairspray or glue get the fiber on there, but that the smooth texture takes practice to make it look good.

I'll probably do a practice one with a halloween wig first i want to test its durability instead of having the foam crack at the con for example. I think I'll be okay with smoothness from my other wig adventure's and more so after the test.
