I've been going around looking for clothes and things to make a human version of Tatl from Majora's mask for my sister since I'll be doing a Human Navi. I've found the skirt,wig,and tights for it,but what is stumping me is what shirt to use for it. She doesn't want to use a corset since she's on the plus size.
Here's what the skirt is:


The tights will be yellow:


The wig:


I'd like a yellow shirt that would go with these. So any suggestions would be nice. Pics of the shirts would help more,too. I will be showing them to my sister.

Also if I could get help with some fairy wings that are close to Navi and Tatl's. Or of an easy way to make them.

I'd stick to a very pale yellow, you an even use a tie dye kit and a white shirt so the color fades from light yellow to a darker shade, like Tatl does in the game. She jingles too, so maybe add some bells around your wrists and ankles. If not you might be mistaken for any random fairy or raver chick. lol. As for the shape of the shirt, that's up to you, if it' warm, go with a tubetop, if it's cold, get a long sleeve boat neck. Pick a stye that flatters your body type. Check the tutorial section for a how to make wings, I know there's a bunch. Hope you're walking around with a more iconic character like a skull kid, bc I doubt anyone will know who you are. Wow I didn't even think about the whole bell idea! Thanks! I don't think she'd be comfortable wearing a tube top. It's hard to look for a shirt that would be good for her because she's body conscious.
And my younger brother is going as Link so we'll be around him the whole time. Also we're gonna have name sign attached to wire on us so that people will know who we are.

I have been mentally planning Zelda fairy cosplays for a while now, so I felt the need to put in my two cents.
When it comes to original designs, I believe outfits should be coherent. The top is very pretty, and would look fine with the leggings, but not the tutu. The tutu and the leggings go together, but don't work with the top. I would ask your friend what appeals to her, and find pieces that go well together.
On a side note, plus sizes look AMAZING in corsets. You could look for a Renaissance type bodice and chemise instead of a lingerie style corset instead.
The tutu itself is a little too "rave-y" for my taste. A longer style fairy skirt might look more LoZ appropriate.

Looking at this is making me rethink my Navi. But my sister likes what I collected for it so far.

But what my sister wants is to feel comfortable in whatever top she wears. Those bodices aren't too tight are they?

The bodices are adjustable. Alternatively, you could go with a chemise and vest instead. It wouldn't be as tight fitting, but still provide some nice shape (if it's more fitted at the waist). The top you've pictured would work if you cut off the bottom section and hemmed the edge (turn under once or twice, and use a zigzag stitch).

What about sewing her a halter top. Make the tutu yourself so you can match the two fabrics perfectly. You can goggle tutu tutorial and halter top patter and find out exactly how to make them on youtube or other sites. Super simple. =)
