omfg I love HIM from PPG awesome cosplay idea

It looks great so far just paint yourself (and the ears) red, make the poofy bottom, put on some stocking/booty thingies

I can't wait to see this when you're done. It looks like you're really getting it going in a great way. I'm pretty sure I'd lol so hard in person if I saw you. His whole character design is so great.

My suggestion would be to make sure you stick to the right kinds of deep reds. I'm not sure if you're including the shirt in the pictures or if the camera may have thrown the colours off, but either way watch out. Looks like freakin blood red to me, so that should be easy to come across.

He has a weird echo effect. I'll do my best with what i can do, but I think a nose would just give me a nasal sound.

I'll be attending SupaNova in Brisbane this coming November, either on Saturday or Sunday.

For the claws, it seems I'm running out of time. I really wanted to do Vacu-forming, but with the little time.. and money I have. I might paper mache' with a metallic paint.

Seems I have a way to get the boots now, and I'll be buying good quality body paint soon enough.

As for the claws, I think you are going to have to make them out of pink insulation foam. I'm guessing you are going to want to make them so they can open and close so....I'm thinking that you are going to have to make the top half of the claw separate from the bottom half and have it connected with PVC piping to make it sort of like a hinge system. (My explanations suck, I apologize in advance.) Think of it as a puppet with the top pincer of the claw as the head of the puppet (where your four fingers will go) and the bottom pincer of the claw as the mouth of the puppet (this is where your thumb will go). Then when you open your hand, the claw will open. To cover the insides of the claw, you can use red fabric or something to keep your hands from being seen when the claws are open.
I think bondo or fiberglass would work to harden the claws so if they get banged around, they won't damage easily. Then after layering it a few times, acrylic spray paint would do wonders and if you want them to be a bit shiny (like an actual lobsters, after all HIM is a lobster....right?) spray the paint with some kind of acrylic finish.

I'm not really good with making moveable props and I never used bondo or fiberglass before so maybe someone else can help fix up some of my mistakes in what materials to use. D:

Well, the time has finally come everyone!

I want to thank you all very, very much for your inspiring comments and helpful tips on everything.
I will be attending SupaNova tomorrow, at Brisbane (For all you Australian fans)
Photos will be uploaded the next day. My costume is now finished and I'm making the final preparations to my hair and eye brows.
Again, I must thank you so very, very much!!

OP will be updated with a finalized photo tomorrow, and then, I guess I'll move onto my April costume!
