Long time Tekken player but new to Tekken cosplay. I just bought a bunch of mats for TTT2 Kunimitsu's default costume. Been wanting to build her for awhile but the timing is finally right.

So, question, in case any of you know: Is there an official name for the "cutoff" kimono she's wearing? I have next to zero knowledge of Japanese clothing and thought I'd ask more knowledgeable people before going to look for patterns...

I'm still working on her TTT 1 alternate, I really want to do her TTT2 Main, but I have to finish other things first, I'm so easily sidetracked with starting other costumes. XD. The best thing I could come close to while looking awhile back is either the Simplicity Kimono Pattern or, what I would go with, was the Star Wars like pattern from Simplicity 5840 D Pattern, and modify it a little.

Yeah, after doing a little research, it looks like basic kimono/yukata are extremely easy to sew. Just basic rectangular shapes. Should be easy to tailor to my body, especially since there are no sleeves (yay). Nice simple sewing project for an inept tailor such as myself, haha. Ty for the link!

Hey guys, as you can see, my cosplay as hwoarang from Tekken 3 is well, a bit less desire-able, so I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips on how to improve that costume of hwoarang. I accept constructive criticism but he was my first cosplay and since I'm still thirteen, it was a tough job =))

Yeah! The no sleeves is a plus!! No problem, cant wait to see it done.

The costume looks great, the only thing I would change is the wig. Find one that is a natural red. Solid in color. Other than that, this is great for a first cosplay! =D

I'm trying to get to ALA in 2013. It's not far from where I live. Havent been able to attend this one yet.

-__- Not sure if I'm going now, got into a car accident on Friday which totaled my car. By the grace of god and help from my bf I was able to get another car. But I'm a little freaked out with driving right now lol. If I can't make it this weekend I'm probably going to just save it for Anime Expo or any other CA convention that pops up in between.
