With the Anatole I completely changed all of my cosplay plans for this year. It's so pretty...so very, very pretty. Photographers are going to have a field day.

Mehdia, Cardinal Caterina? How bad ass is that?! You are going to be fabulous in that outfit.

And beni, be aware that I'm going to hug you if you get to Tifa. ^^

I know for certain I'll have the following:

Leila (FF2), Celes (FF6), Benisato (Ninja Scroll), Allen (Escaflowne: The Movie). I might pull out NiGHTS depending upon the weather. The Anatole reminds me of the museum level in the game. XD

That will be amazing! I have loved Ninja Scroll since I was like 13 (way too young to see that movie...). I'm so going to be stoked to see you guys at the con!

Saturday ~ Eva from Record of Agarest Wars 2 (and bf will be Weiss)

Sunday ~ Live Action version of Usagi Tsukino

I'm keeping it simple next year. After AnimeFEST this year, and taking 5 costumes for 3 days, I am SO keeping it to one costume a day XD Plus thankfully I already have Classic Moon and Usagi completed, so I just have to make Eva, which I'm already working on, so by the time A-Kon rolls around I'll already be set to go and can hopefully just relax and enjoy the con =P

I'll be hard to miss for the entire convention--when I'm not dressed as a flaming redhead, I'll be carrying around either a giant glow-toy or a giant professional-looking camcorder rig.

Pharaoh and I will be teaching (hopefully) an armor-making panel. We will have a few power tools with us for live demos. Cosplayers + power tools = good times.

Omg, I've definitely got to check out that panel! I've never had the need to do armor before, but later next year I'll be doing some armor for one of my bfs costumes, and I'm like totally clueless as to where to start, so hopefully I can learn some stuff at your panel =D Be sure to post when your panel will be and in what room when you get it all figured out!

I really want to go to a con in TX, it's been years since I've been to the state and I've never gone to a con down there - the timing though is right after Fanime so I can only pick one! Just curious, but to those who go to cons a lot in TX, how does it rank among other cons there? Although there is the new location to consider this year, as well, which may or may not throw a wrench into how it is usually run.

I preferred the smallish-con atmosphere of AnimeFest, to be honest (past tense is used purposely), but I love the variety of programming that A-Kon has to offer.

From your avatar, I imagine you are a cosplayer--I will say that the Anatole is absolutely STUNNING for cosplay photography. There's enough size and variety in that hotel to suit just about anything.

I have heard excellent things about the organization of Ikkicon and the cosplay level of Anime Matsuri. Realmscon has a good gaming setup if you're into that.

I honestly can't give an opinion, usually AnimeFEST is my absolute favorite convention, but they moved locations this year, and tried to implement a bunch of new stuff, and had a lot of difficulties, so it kinda made it so-so, but once they get things all figured out I'm sure it'll go back to being great.

As for A-kon, it's usually a so-so convention for me, but since they're changing locations next year, it has the potential to be freaking amazing, as the location was what made it so-so for me for many reasons.

Prior to this year, I would say go to AnimeFEST instead of A-kon, but after this year, they're about even, and we'll have to see how things go next year before I could honestly say which one I like better.

I've been looking for a couple of posts like that, especially about the new hotels. Have you actually been to the Anatole in person, yet, Celyddon? The pictures on it's website make it look amazing but I'd love an in person take on it.
