I've been working on a Homestuck Jade Harley 3AM cosplay with a black bridesmaid's dress. It has 2 layers, the bottom one being a chiffon-like material, and the top being a sheer see-through material. (You clearly tell that I'm an expert at sewing with my wonderful terminology.) I've been sewing some clearish milky white glass beads to the bottom layer which look fine without the top layer, but when the top layer goes over it, they all look really dull and are hard to notice. I want to try putting a different kind of sparkle on top that will really make it stand out. This is for a masquerade in 6 months and I want it to look its very best!

You can always add more bead work or sequins to the top layer. Or, if you are willing to attempt it, you can get glitter organza or a chiffon with glitter made on to it and replace the top layer. Or at least put some of it around the hem to give the sparkle there.

You could also sew a layer of sparkly tule on to it
that might work better than have to do tedious bead work. |

If you want the beaded effect, you can either buy beaded organza over the dress or even glue on some Aurora Borealis crystals with jeweling adhesive. maybe even beaded or crystalized cording would work

Joann's has some really nice sparkly organzas, if you're interested in that. You could also just toss some glitter over the dress as well and see if it sticks at all, if you want to add a little extra shine!
Other than that, I'd just say more beads! Good luck to you, that dress is beautiful and I'm sure your rendition will be stunning!
