I'm very looking towards to this formal ball this year!

http://www.facebook.com/events/443223245722434/?fref=ts

So what are you guy's planning on dressing up as? Hopefully I might be wearing my formal suit with either Andross mask or if I do finish my Phanto mask.

Lastest update:
For those who are going. If you guys don't know how to dance. Come to my workshop right before the ball.

And I also have a panel about Ballroom/Social dancing in the cosplay community on Sunday if you like some good guide and tip which will be on day 3 on Sunday.

As long it's an formal outfit. That means no tennis shoes, no jeans, no torn t-shirt or usual clothes. Kimono, Lolita outfit are fine.

How strict will ladies/male's shoes be enforced? I have technical experience in dance, so I know the international latin/standard heel widths and lengths, but will staff be that picky, or so long as it's not stilletos? Also, boys are fine as long as it's not open-toe/sandal/sneakers?

There was no rule stating against stilletos from the dress code I read. For the boys, as long it's not too casual like sneakers and stuff. For your safety, I would not recommend open-toe/sandal since there's a high chance that we'll get stepped on while dancing.

I find it ironic that Rorschach wears nothing but formal clothing all day. The only informal thing is his trench coat and fedora. So assuming I go I'll still be in costume... mostly. I just wouldn't have the Trench coat.

Question: Is there going to be an issue if I wore the fedora?

So how far is the line between formal and "too dressy". Most of the dresses I have are pretty up there towards dressy. So I don't want to overdress if I don't need to, haha.

I'm going to be LSP (Lumpy space princess) from Adventure Time. But if a floor length prom like dress is too dressy I'll have to change characters, lol.

My other option was Celty from Durarara, but yeah, I don't want to wear a motorcycle helmet to a dance LOL
