I'm super excited! I haven't been to a con in almost 3 years! I was only going to go on Saturday (being that I'm only going to be back in Texas for a few weeks) but the more I think about it the more I want to go more than one day!

If you do want to go for the full length of the con I suggest going to www.ikkicon.com to pre-register. Right now the price for the badge is $40 until the end of this month. It'll probably be even more the closer to the convention it gets.

I'm not worried about the price. I know how much the cons usually run

I'm just debating how many days to go. I love cosplaying and oddly enough, there isn't a lot of opportunity for it in Japan (I live in the country side so it's kinda a big deal) so I'm really looking forward to getting the chance to do it again at Ikkicon

I thought I was going but all the sudden the people I was going to go with dont want to go anymore cuz they dont want to pay for the hotel. I was looking forward to this so much, and now all the sudden, nope not going..

How lame is that?

If you haven't booked a hotel room yet, wait until next Wednesday. There's a chance I might be able to help people get either the host or overflow hotel at a cheap price.

I'll be waiting to hear about cheap. I like cheap. I'm actually holding on to a reservation for the overflow hotel, but have been debating on canceling it for one of the cheap motels up the road on 35 for cheap. 300 for just me is insane.

Even though it would only be for a day, I am hoping I get to go. I am trying to work things out so that it happens. It would be my first Ikkicon.
Aside from that, I can't figure out what to wear that day. Anyone want to help me decide?

Next Wednesday and maybe I'll have something. Today I have nothing interesting to report for room prices.

Anyway, speaking of Ikkicon, anybody want to set up a photoshoot for Final Fantasy? There's always lots of us doing the series at every con and I want to know what day we'll be gathering people. Heck, maybe do more than one. I'm bringing 3 FF costumes so I'm covered any day of the con. I haven't been down to Austin in a few years and never stayed at the Hilton so I don't know if they have a good indoor space for a gathering. I realize it's Texas, but it might be cold at the end of the month, so outside might not work.

I would love to help get a FF photoshoot planned. Because there are always lots of FF cosplayers but the meetup/photoshoot is never that big >.<

Hmm, looks on google maps like there's some green space just outside of the hotel, towards Frost Bank. Dunno how weather permitting that will be, but the other 3 sides of the hotel are facing buildings and parking garages. As far as the lobby goes, it looks really dark, small, and enclosed, which sucks for photos. Maybe they have a pool deck we could get to, or something.

Bummer, hotel deal wasn't as good as I hoped. Anyway it's a bit less than the con rate.

Use the website hhonors/thankyou, save 30% off the overflow Hilton Garden Inn that is next door (so $115 instead of $125). The nights before and after con are only $80, which is pretty good.

BTW link works around the country for big discounts anywhere you might be going from Dec 14-Jan 7 so feel free to share. :P
