How to get the bad smell out of my Organization XIII coat?
I'm new to cosplaying, so I figured I would buy my first cosplay to start out. I plan on cosplaying Xion, so I bought an Organization XIII coat on eBay. It just came in the mail today, and everything is fine... but it smells TERRIBLE! It has a rubber-like smell that I noticed right away. I have allergies and get migraines frequently, so I am very sensitive to scents. Does anyone know of a way that I could get the smell out? The coat is made out of a faux leather material. This is what it looks like:

Many costumes smell odd after it's out of the box so the best thins to do is wait. But if you want to get rid of the odor quickly:
One thing, do not throw this into the washing machine since it can spoil the cloak since it's made out of leather. My best advice is to leave your cloak outside for a couple hours and possibly spray some Febreze or some other kind of odor emulator product onto the coat. This kind of issue happened to me when one of my costumes I bought online smelled like a thrift store. I used this technique since I didn't want to shrink the costume, which was made out of silk and it was a great success.
