Rapunzel Wig - Disney Parks Version

Looking for some tips on how to do the Disney Parks version of Rapunzel's hair. I know in the parks, she's actually wearing a short wig and the rest of the hair is attached to the dress, but I can't do that because I need to wear this wig with more than one costume. I know I probably could sew several wigs together to get the thickness, but that seems like it would be really heavy. If that's the only way to go about it, then so be it, but if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm open to them.

I'd also like to know how to get good length. I'm 5'7" and I know they make 6' wigs, but all the braiding at the top will take away from the length, right?

There are some tutorials on deviantart which might be useful.

Apparently, the wig made with the second method is very light

For my parks style wig, I used a base wig and several long ponytail clips from Arda.

As you said, the parks wig is 2 parts: the base wig on the top of the head and then the braid, which is attached at the base of the neck and to the dress. I didn't want to attach the hair to my costume (since I wanted the freedom to be able to wear my short wig with it too).

What I did was style the base wig like the parks (dutch braids around the side and pinned up) and then sewed several falls together (I'm not sure how many I have in there at this point as I kept adding to it) and sewed this to the base of the neck of the wig. While I almost always wear it over my shoulder, I've worn it down my back as well with no problems.

My braid is all hair (and from what i can tell from visiting Rapunzel many times, so is hers) and it weighs quite a bit, but it's manageable with it over the shoulder. I have another fall that's clipped to the bottom of the braid for the loose part at the end.

Unless you want to take the braid off and restyle the wig for other costumes and then restyle it for Rapunzel, it's probably not the best idea to use this wig for other costumes.

There is an ebay seller who has 60" wigs for sale
http://www.ebay.com/itm/60-Extra-Lon... em4ab811e6f1

It's not quite as long as you want, but maybe you could use it as a base and then add a few extensions into the bottom to get it longer?
She has a lighter blonde too if that's what you're looking for
