I know that I want to do a cosplay of Grell Sutcliff as I think his outfit's really cool as well as his general character. However, it feels like he's too widely used in cosplays & I didn't really want to do a cosplay where it is so common that I bump into seven of me during a single convention. (Although I did want to be recognized.) Also, I'm not sure if I would be able to publicly pull off his extravagant personality, being quite the introvert.

I know I can make his costume well & such & possibly pull it off, appearance wise... or at least more so than I've seen some cosplays of him.

So... should I or... not...?

Have you considered doing his butler uniform instead? That way you wouldn't be as flamboyant but still be recognized. Just a thought. Ah..but besides that..go for it..only you know who you want to cosplay and it is about having fun

I always say cosplay who you want and don't care about popularity or running into other cosplayers. I also am the kind that doesn't care if someone is acting in character when they aren't posing for a picture, so don't worry so much about being an introvert. Just cosplay Grell if you love the character and want to be him.

I'm all for the butler Grell idea. I've only seen like two people do that version. There's also the younger Grell from the William Spears OAV.
