I am so severely lost. I'm looking for a tutorial or method on how to correctly make the ruffles of this dress. I've seen one girl do it perfectly, but did not get the chance to find her online yet.

If you mean the ruffles on the dress...It looks to me like a ruffle folded in half, stuffed with something light, like feathers, then folded in measure pleats and sewn on. The back back is similiar except a gathered train that maybe detachable.http://www.trulyvictorian.net/tvxcar...p?productid=64 This is just an idea. Look at 1880's bustle patterns and fashion books for better ideas.

Why make a hat? A quick google search produced several options for under $50. True they won't be as good as a Tim Bender hat but it will do for your cosplay.

Personally, I would try something like this for the top.http://www.folkwear.com/108.html It looks like an easy modification. As for the skirt, all I can think of is Simplicity Pattern 2817. It's a Disney Princess pattern. They get the poofy over skirt by folding a squashy circle in half. That might work with this skirt. Figure out the basic shape of the skirt, round it out and double it...kind of like a symetrical onion or pomagranate. Use batting or feathers to give to substance. Goes that make sense? The leggings can be off the shelf and painted with fabric paint. You should be wearing them or have someone wearing them when you paint on the strip. Masking tape is also usefull to keep the paint in the lines.

Would love some help on how to make a tale for the image below. It seems the tale is kind of dragon like and I was hoping I could get the tale to move..something like http://youtu.be/xlpDSnK7mZw but not sure how I would go about make that nor how to cover it up after the skeleton is made.

Plus if you have advice on the horns and claws, that would help as well. I have an idea of what I want to do...but I would love advice.

For the scarf, I'd use a super lightweight polyester, cut it to the rough size and shape and then melt the edges with a lighter. The gloves should be a medium weight with a little give. Nothing lightweight or only slightly lightweight; if it is too lightweight it will be a biddity to work with. They are basically a fingerless glove that is loose around the arms. The only pattern I have for gloves are from a bridal accessory set. There are several vest patterns with either mcall's or simplicity. It will take some digging and they will need to be modified.http://www.simplicity.com/p-6071-mis...or-jacket.aspx Here is an example. Try looking in the quick sew and easy to sew sections. A shrug can also be modified. For the pants, it might be easier to buy and modify a part of hipsters. If you go the sew option I'd suggest a demin/spandex mix. But first I'd look at my local goodwill or Salvation Army. The pattern can be painted on while someone is wearing them.

The skirt is an elliptical shape. It's like a cross between a hoop and bustle. The footprint of the hoop is egg shape and not round. Most skirts can be altered to fit. Most any fairytale dress pattern can be used for the top. You'll need a strapless/backless bra.

What material/technique should I use to make the armor for Liliana Vess. Preferably something light weight but sturdy since her bustier would have to be the same material.
