What did you learn today? (Cosplay Related)
I've been cosplaying for almost 17 years now, but I still learn new things all the time as a result of being into this hobby.
Today I learned that super glue and craft foam do NOT get along well. It makes the foam all warped and hard >_<. |

Well, unfortunately, that Arda is out of the wig I wanted... TT^TT
And that nail glue makes your skin feel very odd! I use it in place of super glue, and while making a bow, got a huge smear of it on my thumb. My skin feels like plastic now...

That next time I need to sew something on the back of a stretchy glove, I'm just making my own glove so I can sew it on BEFORE it's done and thus impossible to do properly. Ugh.

I learned a lot of really great makeup tips!
I was turned onto this YouTube-r by a good friend of mine and I really like what she does. Her instructions are very clear and accessible:http://www.youtube.com/user/EuphoricCreation I'm still a little hopeless at applying makeup so I was really glad to find this girl.

I learned cosplay makes me do some crazy things....
Apparently my stance on never, ever, buying a pair of skinny jeans in my life, or even another pair of jeans period, has been broken today by buying a pair of washed-out, reddish-pink skinny jeans for an upcoming cosplay project. It was a good run for 13 years...

I learned it's hard to find a good stretchy cotton fabric in black that doesn't look faded. I am doing and ANBU Kakashi commission and was looking for what fabric to use and all the cotton stretch fabrics all looked washed out. I'm going with a nice, sleek matte jersey instead. I think it's gonna be sweet looking...just hope the customer (who is a friend) will like it.

That, if I manage to find the same material again, I can reuse the pants I have for my Prussia cosplay for another character. I really should have realised that earlier as they are (depending on your reference picture) the same colour and style, but apparently I don't pay enough attention to similarities between costumes.

I've learned that my cosplays are far too ambitious for my skill level.

Well, last night I learned how people make that cool Halo armor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7KLpmk-nO8
I also learned that it is very difficult to find washable suiting fabric. Especially purple washable suiting fabric. lol |

Also learned that my cat likes to eat ribbon. Not cool. Guess I need to find a new place to store it so he can't get at it.
