For dinner I made this:

Whole wheat rotini pasta with broccoli and cubed chicken breasts in a cheese sauce.

I've made a couple of recipes from this cookbook and have found them pretty successful, although I tend to make modifications to a lot of them. Last night I made pasta with mushrooms in a "creamy" sauce; the sauce was definitely thinner than usual cream sauces, due to being made with water, milk, and potato, but I liked it. Little Dude did, too, I think, although most of it wound up in his lap. The cookbook's great because the recipes are kid-friendly and appropriate for little ones, but most of them are tasty enough that you can increase the quantities and serve dinner to everyone.

I made homemade tomato-basil soup, corn cakes, and pumpkin spice bars.

Woo.

Also, I found the Game of Thrones cookbook (and various other cookbooks) at work for RULL cheap. Is it worth it to actually BUY the GoT cookbook, or should I just use the recipes from the website if I want to try them out?

I believe that everthing in the cookbook is featured on the website anyway. Save the money.

There are quite a few book-exclusive recipes; no point publishing a book where people can get everything online for free. Flora, I can send you a list of the recipes not available online and if there's anything you like I'm willing to copy it for you.

Finally tried dulse.... uh. Not as good as I thought. It's got a strong, musky, salty aftertaste/aroma that makes eating it straight pretty gross. I tried mixing it into fried rice though, and it tastes fine like that.

So, the week of Thanksgiving on Monday, I made a venison and hot Italian sausage with onion and mushroom sauce lasagna with a side of salad and garlic bread for dinner. IT WAS AWESOME!

And at the moment, there is a greatly sized venison loin marinating in the fridge. Not entirely sure what to do with it tomorrow.
