Cosplay Prop materials?
Hi everyone~
Anyone else in the UK is having trouble with finding materials to create weapons? I don't know where I can get my hands on materials that are cost effective, everything is just so expensive here ![]() |

genrally i make my props from cardboard from the local supermarket on restock day as weather you pay for it or get it free after use, cardboard tends to be the same quality. although if you wanted something cardboard like, but nicer than cardboard look in to foam board. you can get it in larger ammounts from photoframe shops. it has 3 layers one foam layer inside and 2 white poster like layers on either site of that, but it can be expensive, 25inch square costs about £5.
sorry for the delayed reply been away from the site.

all my props are usually cardboard covered in mud roc. A staff I made for a Tsubasa cosplay has a wodden rod I got a B&Q for a couple of quid.
depending on what you're making you can usually find something to go with it. a lot of the time I find the trick is looking for things which would have the same look once they're painted or covered in something. for example for camera lenses on a head of Briareos (appleseed) I ended up using the bottom of a 7up can and bottle tops.
