Hey!
I did a Link cosplay from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It's my first cosplay so I know it's not great and there are some parts that I'm not happy with how they turned out, but any suggestions you have are welcome!

What if u dye ur hair blonde like Link's? Other than that the costume is pretty straight forward unless u want to add ur own original stuff to it like a necklace or maybe some decor on the tights.

Well, not gonna lie here...This could be better made..The tunic looks just fine, but I can't tell if you make a colar like his or not..Also the bottom should be a little longer..Since he is a dude his tunic has to be long enough to not look like a miniskirt..lol..Also, as mentioned, the hair..Need's be blonde..If you dont want to bleach, I suggest a wig. I can suggest a specific one if you like..

Now, the belt going over the shoulder..I see it's not a real belt. It's more a strap with a fake buckle..And it looks just that..Fake. This could easily be made out of vinyl and a real buckle with little work. The pouches can be made with the same stuff if you want. It would match.

I can't see the gloves well enough to say anything..The boot covers look great. I like them a lot.

To be fair in OOT Link is practically wearing a mini skirt. So I don't really see that as an issue. For the shoulder strap you don't necessarily have to replace the fabric but I would definitely suggest using a real buckle even if it doesn't function. If you want to replace it but don't want to use real leather a smooth vinyl would work really well or even a strap made of the same material your boots and gloves are made of. You would probably want to pad it a bit so it sits above you rather than on you. His gloves have bunches so you could consider folding some loose horizontal pleats on your gloves then securing them with a few blind stitches. It should add that layered effect.

The only thing I DON'T like is the belt over the shoulder. Everything else looks fine to me, but do you think we could see photos with better shots of the ears and hat? o: Haha also I like your nose, it reminds me of Link's. That's honestly my favourite feature of Link.

Overall it could use some work, but you're off pretty good so far!

Thanks for the comments everyone! The belt seems to be the biggest issue and I was planning on buying a real one, but due to time/money constraints I just made it from some leftover material. But hopefully I can go back now and try to make one that looks a bit better.

I know the gloves also need to be remade (they basically fell apart after wearing them twice). I'll look around to see if I can find some better pictures, I know that I took pictures while i was making it so I should have a bunch somewhere.

Oh also, as for the shortness of the tunic, it was longer originally but due to some sewing mishaps (first time sewer :P) it ended up almost uncomfortably short.

the oot link is not wearing a mini skirt.. its a kilt laddie. but the boots look great the only thing that needs to be fixed or reworked is the shoulder belt. it looks too fake, you could get a cheap belt from goodwill and use the buckle from it.
