I would hope so but I get the feeling she used cardboard because foam is time consummating to seal and you just don't get a polished finish.

I'm considering cosplaying as Madoka. Just finished the series a few days ago and I loved what happened to her character in the last half of the show.

I think I'll have to disappoint and not do Walpurgis Night this year. The though of creating her is not the issue because I've figured out all the elements needed to creat her. But rather doing her right would be uncomfortable and awkward as hell to wear and my experience with mascot cosplay in the past is I never end up re wearing them for that reason past the one day. If I did her I would also use accurate textiles which cost more and I rather but those into a dress I'm willing to re wear like the Red Queen.
That said I might be tempted to bring Mami back again for a day because it one of those cosplayes I love to bits as well (like Undertaker.) We shall see. Venus McFlytrap is the one I'm going for this year so far because I can wear her comfortable and I wear far to many heavy costumes every year and it's nice to to a girl and wear something lighter even if I'm covered in green paint. lol

Yeah unless I change my mind again (I won't buy nothing till November for AN which is my makeup deadline) the though of wearing her again unless I make a alternate sleeve and under skirt make her a little less re-wear friendly. She's not out 100% but I'm juggling ideas and sticking to my no buy guns. Also it will be two years after Madoka and I'm not sure how well received she would be.
Plus I'm looking at $800 to $1000 to do her right in material cost. >_< My Red Queen was $1500 once everything was said and done (But i rent through 3 sets or wigs that cost about $350 by the end of it). I like to aim for $500 with my costumes normally at the max. lol

Yeah hesitation on my part for sure the Gears with all the foam/paint and manufacturing the shape of the hoop skirt would come to $400 for the under skirt alone. >_<
Although taking this out make me feel better about doing Venus McFlytrap. It give me a chance to finally do a two tone wig and body paint. ^__^
