The Anatole is an AMAZING hotel. It's absolutely huge and due to their relationship with the museum, it's got a walking art tour inside the building where they have real artwork (paintings, sculptures, etc) on display. One of the coolest features is the grounds they have outdoors by the gym/pool. It's nicely landscaped and absolutely gorgeous. Both lobbies are massive and there are all sorts of weird little hallways with neat architecture. I stayed there about a month ago to scope it out and was impressed.

Personally I hate the Sheraton (aka Adams Mark) so I have skipped Akon the last few years. With the move to the Anatole I am soooo there in 13.

I will likely be putting up the interactive map we made of the Anatole very shortly so that people can see it and make cosplay plans. NOTE: there is nothing on it labeled re: A-Kon layout plan. Everything on the map is labeled as the hotel has named it.

Nothing's solid yet, but I hope to have two different Ciel Phantomhive outfits, Ivan Braginski (AKA Russia) and hopefully one or two Ritsuka Aoyagi outfits.
Now I just need to find a Sebastian for my Ciel and a Soubi for my Ritsuka.

I am a cosplayer and cosplay photographer. I mostly attend conventions in Florida and Georgia, but I have always wanted to attend something outside of those two states. It looks like I might have a way now.

I don't know the photographers or cosplayers that attend A-Kon so it should be an interesting experience. Assuming my plans hold up

Texas is a really far distance to travel from where you are, may I ask why you chose A-Kon?

I can't seem to go to katsucon and I have always wanted to go to a con that was beyond my typical radar. I know someone who is going that is a few hours from me so I only have to make half the drive personally.

I miss Katsucon. It used to be one of my favorites when I lived up that way. The only thing that sucked was how cold it could be and it made outdoor photo shoots a pain.

I am excited to see the new venue - I will probably drive down there and look around some time before the con since I'm local. As for costumes, I'm bringing two new ones and one old one!

I've always wanted to go to Katsucon, I've heard SO MANY great things about it, but it is so far away. I did make it out to Otakon one year, so eventually I'll make it to Katsu, but I will definitely plan on fully covered, warm, cosplays XDD Cuz it's in February right?
