Lightbulb Sketch of OC outfit

Hello,
I'm new to the everything cosplay so I am going to need some help.
Well I decided that I might want to start by doing an OC (I'm a writer and have a few of my characters in mind) and thought I will hand make one of their outfits before I start doing someone too elaborate like ciel which will take too much time and money and skills to do...
Anyway, I sketched out the general idea if what the outfit will look like and would like some feedback on what I should add to it to make it less simple looking.

I posted them below (warning: my drawing skills are horrible!!! So sorry about that bear with me):

Neither of the links work for me. You might have to host them somewhere other than Facebook, or ... I don't know.

I would love to help, but your links do not work. Try hosting on another website.

I re-posted the links. I hope they work, they may seem a little small so I hope that isn't a problem for anyone.

Could you please host them on another site? Such as Photobucket, imgr etc? And then put the images into the IMG tags? :3 Thanks

Doesn't look terribly difficult.

Do you have any experience sewing? A pattern for that sort of dress should be easy enough to find. Seems like it would be a relatively simple beginner project for a novice seamstress.

Alternatively, it should be pretty easy to find a Halloween-themed dress that's very similar. My wife has one but I can't remember offhand where she got it - I'll see if I can find a picture of it when I get home.

I assume that the long parts of the bottom of the dress (left side of the second photo) is frayed/torn fabric - is that a shorter skirt underneath, or a liner of the outer dress?

A quick bit of googlin' brought me to this, which should be a pretty close base piece for you to modify:

I have some experience sewing but not much.
The shorter part of the pink and blue dress, I'm planning on making it out of see-through material.
Do you have any suggestions on what I should do to make it more functional?

Since it's entirely fabric, you might have better luck putting this inquiry into the Sewing/Fabric-Craft section instead of General Construction.
