Rin Kagamine Legwarmer help

I've been trying to make a Rin Kagamine cosplay for quite some time. I've made up my mind in quite a lot of areas but i can't seem to settle on a method to make her legwarmers.

Reference Pictures : [xXx] and [xXx]

So I intended on using FaithinDiedara's tutorial but I'm worried about what would happen when I tried to attach the "Electic Voice System" and the faux Speakers.

My next option was to use a plain pattern but, then it wouldn't be poofy. D:

I'm at a bit of a loss here. Does anyone have any ideas on how I should make them?

And while we're looking at Rin's legs, what is everyone's opinion on how to apply "Electric Voice System"?

the words you could use acrylic paint? And the speaker part me and my sister dismissed completely cause it was headache. and ours legwarmers weren't poofy either. look at other cosplayers and they aren't either so yeah...As long as we know who you are it's ok. And I didn't put in the words either. hehe.

Thanks for replying. I haven't started yet, but what I might do is cut it out an pin it up , so that I can find where the speaker would be and sew that first. I don't know I had an Idea in my head I'm going o try to experiment with today.

I don't see how there would be a problem attaching them. Make them up to the second to last step (just before the optional step); put them on to check the placement of the words and speakers; attach them; then do the last step. Other than the shape you cut the fabric and the fact that there is elastic at the bottom as well as the top, that tutorial isn't any different from plain legwarmers.

I'm doing a Rin cosplay too and I plan on making the screen part out of green felt and then buy a mouse pad for the speakers. What type of fabric are you planning on using? I'm gonna make mine out of cotton
