Chicken Run cosplay-ideas?

I have decided to cosplay Ginger from "Chicken Run," but, as the character is a chicken, I'm unsure how to go about making it. I'm thinking of keeping a few elements "chicken," such as the legs/feet, but I don't really want to stick a beak on my face all day. How do you guys think I should go about this? I need help in particular with making the feet.

One beak idea would be like Medli from LoZ: Wind Waker. Make sure it has air holes! Customize the piece to resemble Ginger and practical/comfortable enough to wear for a stretch at a time.

Aw, Chicken Run is one of my favourite movies! For the feet, I would start with a base shoe and cover it with the form, using foam fabric, for example. Good luck and don't forget to post photos!

I did a parrot costume once. I used a baseball cap with the brim as my beak. I used something called buckram to shape the top of the brim into a parrot beak. I glued google eyes to the hat and painted my face and neck blue to represent the bird's neck. I'd share a pic, but the person who was supposed to send me the pics never did.

I have an idea for a Ginger cosplay idea, but its more humanized than chicken-like.
