Thank you!
But, really, that's don't help me, I have me too a poster who I can see that so good. And on it, we can't see the other texts on the "gunblade" form, not on "sword" form. I am searching these texts. I have surrounded them: http://i50.tinypic.com/ic0mdf.jpg

The one in Gran Pulse alphabet says "blinding instant", I've seen it in the Ultimania Omega guide. The one in Cocoon alphabet has never been explained (as many others). I also know the really tiny one you didn't surround, it says "made in cocov" (I'm pretty sure it's the signatuer of the designer), I've seen it in a really huge pic. I'm really upset with the fact that they put text EVERYWHERE but they didn't clearly show them!

Hello fellow Lightning cosplayers!!
I'm a little confused about a piece of the vest and am hoping someone could enlighten me. I'm talking about the belt-like thing that hangs out slightly from under her collar on both sides. I'm at a loss on how it's actually attached to the vest and I've looked everywhere I can think of to figure it out, but I can't seem to find anything. Any help would be really appreciated ![]() |

It looks sewn into the vest... The "belt" continues to the lower part of the vest, too, see?

Oh I feel I should specify that I don't mean the tan parts that run down the sides of her vest. There's a tiny little belt that looks like it's actually attached to the collar, but I'm not entirely sure if it is or attached in some other way. All the pics I've found it's mostly covered by the collar ;_;

Oops, sorry about that.
Yeah, none of the official art I have shows that area in any great detail. The best I can offer you is this (link below). It's a photo from a now-closed merchant that was known for excellent work. It's possible there are artworks that I don't have, or that they had more screencaps to go off....... (or maybe they just picked something that seemed appropriate?) http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...58437358_n.jpg

I haven't gone through this thread in it's entirety (for a newbie cosplayer/someone who has no knowledge of sewing or prop construction with a huge desire to play Lightning, it's all more than a little overwhelming!), so if this has been addressed, I apologize!
~Lightning~, the sword in your pics is INCREDIBLE. What materials did you use and how did you go about constructing it? Or did you order it from somewhere? I saw cosplayhouse and hellocosplay have really amazing replicas, but a) I don't know how reliable those sites are and b) the one on hellocosplay is $400 and ... YIKES. I have to hit the lottery before I can justify spending that kind of money, lol. |

@strawintogold
It's okay~ It can be cheap making Lightning's outfit, I get all my fabrics from fabric.com and using coupons I find online. Some of the craft I did was using craft foam which you can find at any craft store for a low price. Patterns may help you, I used no patterns, I look at my own clothing for guidance. You may check out here for more info: http://www.cosplay.com/costume/433213/ I posted there a silly drawing tutorial for the leg bag that hopefully will help you ![]() I know the question is at ~Lightning~ but I'll help out. If you want to spend a little bit on the gunblade, I suggest finding tutorials online that may help you, here's a nice one: http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=129313. Insulation foam or foamboard is quite cheap and lightweight~ I haven't bought anything in cosplayhouse or hellocosplay, so I don't know if they're reliable :/ I'm doing commissions on transformable gunblade, if you're interested PM me. -YuuriC Last edited by Yuurisans : 08-20-2012 at 09:19 PM. |

@strawintogold, thank you! I love it so much haha. I have got it on eBay for approximately 300USD. The seller is Lalan19 I think something like that, and his shop is named 404Cosplay Plaza. Yes it's expensive, don't worry I have just spend 100 of my pocket, the rest was donations from fans ^^
If you don't want to spend a lot, you can take a look at how I have made this sword, the tutorial is for the gunblade form, I wanna try this form, but you can try it for the sword too!

thought I'd share this Lightning cosplay that I photographed at SacAnime 2012. I wish I had gotten her name but everyone was leaving so I had to snap quick, she was nice to pose for me:

So I'm hoping to do this cosplay next year (or course when everyone's doing LR Lightning, lol; but original Light will always be my favorite <3) and I'm probably just going to purchase it because I know I'll never be artistic/a decent enough sewer to do it myself. And artistic*sprouts on eBay has a pretty amazing costume (aside from the shoulder pauldron, I'd have to replace that).
I'm looking for this wig: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140667241636... 4.m1438.l2649 But I'm afraid of buying it on eBay because, well, most of the negative reviews on any wig sellers are that the wigs don't match the pictures posted. So does anyone have any recommendations? I'd like to keep the price under $30 and have something that's pre-cut, if at all possible! |
