Unhappy Lightening tights?

I'm trying to make armsocks. I was planning on using light grey tights from welovecolors.com - which didn't happen. Instead, my mother (as I don't have a credit card) bought me much darker tights.
Here's a picture to detail exactly how much of a problem this is.

She won't let me buy another pair. The actual pair I need. My con is January 4th.
Does anybody know of any methods for lightening tights?

Unfortunately you can't lighten tights. Bleach will destroy the fiber and you can't dye them lighter.

Maybe try to stretch them out a little or wear something white on your arms underneath? That's all I can suggest. Good luck.

Could've tried spraying them with diluted white acrylic paint maybe?

Your best bet would be carefully painting it with slightly diluted white fabric paint.
I'm not too sure how spraying it will work. You may just end up with alot of dots.
