I really want to be Rose and have my boyfriend be Doctor Who. Is there any certain costume for Rose that is more recognizable or things I could add on to the costume?

Not the sonic screwdriver or Tardis, please, as that would be more towards the Doctor.

I just can't seem to think of anything other than over-the-top make-up, heheh.

Hrmm... Well it would depend on which Doctor you intend to have your boyfriend go as.

9th - Empty Child Rose with the Union Flag shirt

10th- The overall skirt outfit from Tooth and Claw.

Those would probably be the most recognizable.

I agree with the posts above. The most recognizable outfits would be Empty Child, Tooth and Claw, Idiot's Lantern, and her series 4 outfit.

Which outfit are you doing? We could probably think of some more items based on that.

Tooth and Claw is pretty recognizable, and not too difficult to put together, compared to some of her other outfits. Her series 4 is also really recognizable, but the jacket is kind of difficult to pin down. Forever 21 used to have a few similar ones left in stock, but they've sold out since I purchased mine. Another might be her New Earth outfit, since the shirt is so unique.

Just thought I'd note I found the jacket you were referring to, patriciarakel, at Forever 21 in UTC (San Diego) today. I snatched it up immediately since I couldn't find ANYTHING remotely similar that was under $200 online. They might be back in stock around the country if anyone's interested.

I actually made a post about the jacket a month ago which linked to places to buy the jacket online, all under 60 USD, for Rose cosplayers to look at. The Forever 21 jacket is a great comparison to the original Oasis jacket, but since it was from their fall/winter season several years ago, finding one in stores is nearly (but not quite) impossible. Congrats on finding one in stores!

If you're making the cosplay yourself, I'd go for her outfit in "New Earth"
there aren't many people who cosplay it so you'll stick out more and it's easily recognizable!

@patriciarakel Oops, I missed the part where you said they were online. My bad. :x But yeah, they're littered across the Forever 21s I've seen, so no shortage yet. A good replacement if you seriously can't find any online. Biggest problem with them, besides the fact that they don't have those fuzzy sleeve things (it's 3am, I'm tired), is that the zipper goes sideways, so the flaps are all over the place. Sadface.

Ah well, it makes a comfy little outfit in the meantime. Been walking around with it with my pink shirt hanging out and gotten no comments yet.

I know the pants are kind of easy to find, but I found some that were ridiculously perfect at ... well, I was just about to fetch a link but it looks like there's a TON of perfect appropriate pants to choose from, so nevermind that. T_T

So, time to be on the lookout for a good Nerf gun to modify and a perfect jacket to come back into stock. Shopping for Summer cons is great in the winter, ha!
