I'm TOTALLY new to the Cosplaying World //lol//
And no, I have NO experience with sewing, at all! But my friend does, so I can count on her for sewing and all. : Reference Picture
I know how to style the wig, I'm actually quite good at styling wigs and such.
The hat... I think I manage around with the hat. I'll play around with the hat but some instructions will be very nice.
The coat and the weird cape thingy... that's what I'm seriously needing help with.
I have NO clue how to do the coat. I was thinking like tracing myself on fabric and cutting it out and sewing it together... xDD
But please, I need instructions step by step.. and especially the easiest way to make it xD
Thank you!
I have everything else covered, but the coat is killing me!

how to make vocaloid Oliver cosplay

Hi um I could've helped you but its a bit too late now >-<
but I'm still going to help for the sake of others
ok so for my Oliver display I went to Jo Ann fabrics and got pattern that has the number 2482 and its basically a long zipper up granny jacket... Like something a grandma would wear around the house but it has a zipper...
well that doesn't matter
I basically use this pattern for all characters with a long coat... Its awesome

well what I did to make the pattern for Oliver was I measured how far down on the leg I wanted it to go and had it go down like on a slant because in some art his coat is slightly higher in the back and goes down to his knees. I made the sleeves longer so I could roll up the ends like how he has it
I also edited the collar so it was able to fold down and I also made it more triangular

for the cape I traced the length of the bottom of the collar so it would line up and then I measured from my neck to how far down I wanted it to go. The I took that measurement and drew a straight line down from the collar line. I then drew a circular line from the straight line to the fold on the fabric. I also had the cape have two layers of fabric so it looks nicer. I might make a tutorial on how to make the cape part of Olivers coat eventually. But not for a while
if any one is wondering when I would upload something like that if I do it would be around march or April
it's rather easy to show but its kinda hard to explain =w=
