Well you'll be putting a layer of EVA underneath the wonderflex anyway, unless you want really lumpy armour?

So it comes down to what sort of finish and durability you want. And cost.

Acrylic paint is fine over wonderflex. Ideally, you want to scuff the entire surface with a scotchbrite pad, followed by an even coat of gesso, or other primer paint. After that, you're good to go.

Whatever you use, you are gonna have a fun time articulating this armor so that your legs can move at least somewhat naturally.

that is what id use
but i have hundreds of square feet of it, the tools to use it,
and work with it daily
that may be a bias answer

i could make an argument that its more cost effective with a better result
but that is based off my skill and equipment on hand

hmm well thats a question worth getting a few opinions on
and picking what you feel is right

here is my best bet
wonderflex is one of the most costly materials by square foot
so that would be a no in this case for me

if ya dotn want to ware this for years (paint will ware out over time)
id say find your self a nice big yoga mat
if it has a nice finish you can find EVA mats in automotive sections
seal the surface with polyethylene, varnish, what you have to make it smooth
paint and finish
id put MDF in the swords so they dont flop about
but they can be done the same way to match

say a little fancier (mid range answer)
what ever material you use to make the shirt
coat the armor and sword in the same stuff to match like the monokote
but a bit cheaper

hope this helps

good times to all

I am following bit I may need a pic to understand how to proceed this. But if worst case scenario I'm goin with Sinatra and primer. I'll post link of the materials that I'm going to use when get home today so you can judge
Wait for Sinatra what tools do I need to work it?
I got heat sources and cutting utensils
And what is MDF?

Don't make it out of Sinatra. The only prop that should ever be made out of Sinatra is the Singing Sword from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

...Yeah. I apologize for that joke.

Serious answer:

To work with Sintra, you mostly just need a sharp utility knife and a heat source like a clean oven or heat gun if you wish to bend it. Heat-proof gloves and a large bowl or bucket of cool water at the ready are also wise. It's good to scuff the surface with a Scotchbrite pad before applying primer. 0000 Steel wool also works, but the steel fibers get all over the place.

MDF is "Medium Density Fiberboard". Imagine grinding up a bunch of brown paper bags into pulp and using heat, pressure, and a bit of resin to turn it back into something not unlike wood. It is dirt cheap, fairly lightweight compared to most wood, and since it has no grain, it is pretty easy to work with. The cut edges come out a little fuzzy, so it's good to apply a few layers of shellac or sanding sealer on them, followed by a little sanding. After that you can prime the whole thing.
