Dyeing a Five Wits wig

Has anyone dyed a wig from The Five Wits? One of their light pink wigs is perfect for an upcoming cosplay, other than being light pink (needs to be a "crayola red"- or "true red" if you prefer).

Yes, it only comes in light pink. No, I don't care that some other seller has an already bright red wig that could work- believe me, I looked extensively before choosing the wig in question. I know the owner said that their wigs do indeed take Sharpie dye when some else asked, but no further details were provided.

the five wits use the same wig manufacturer as arda wigs (who do stock many styles in shades of red). Go to ardas site for some info on how to dye one of their wigs or simply search the forums here. Look for rit dye as well as sharpie and FW ink methods. You may have to experiment on samples of the wig hair to find one that works for your colour.

Also red is nearly imposable to dye on normal wigs and the heat resistant qualities of the Hiperlon doesn't take to any dye method deeply unless you air brush acrylic paint over it (and evey then the red more pastle)

Hiperlon only take sharpie dye when you hand colour, I personally found it to flake off when using the spray dye method onto my clothes. I don't think the The Five Wits owner have tried to dye they wigs red either.

Do you want the red for Sally the Ragdoll or Jubileena Bing-Bing?

Where you thinking this one because of the ponytails.

To me she look like a bob cut with added ponytails.

In Apple Red

and 2 of these to chop and these larger.

or in Cherry Red

You can also make your own poof ponytails by buying one pack of wefts and adding them to a foam core for volume and save yourself some money.

Let me rephrase that: I'm not interested in what other completely different (or "better") wigs are available to buy. I'm even less interested in any cutting or reconstruction (and yes I know that may seem strange to many of you that I'm more willing to deal with dye than that, whatever).

It's still helpful to know what wig you're looking to dye, and for what character. As stated, red dye tends to bleed a LOT so getting a vibrant red most likely isn't going to happen. Second, Five Wits wigs are made with the same fiber as Arda's, which dye pretty well with some things and not so much with others. Third, any styling the wig has probably isn't going to stay through the dying process, especially if you're trying to get red to stick, so you'll have to style it anyway.

People are just trying to help. As stated, red is a hard color and there's a good chance you'll only get a darker reddish-pink, especially if starting with a pale pink.
