Hey so I am planning on cosplaying Hikaru from Magic Knight Rayearth, but her hair is kind of confusing me. The top part is really short, but she has a long braid going down her back, kind of the longer underlayer of her hair I guess. I'm not too good at explaining things, so here's a few reference pictures:


Do you know any wigs that actually have a short top layer and a long underlayer that might be good do use? Or should I buy a short wig and add wefts to just the underlayer to make it longer?

the easiest thing would be to buy a short wig (like the scruffy) and then buy some wefts and sew them in (it's no hard...promise)

Ditto what Benihime said. Then you have the option to take off the braid and use the short wig for something else.

Arda does sell a wig already pre-styled like that with a long low ponytail- the Vegas: http://arda-wigs.com/products/vegas
but it is a very layered short wig and there are fewer color options.

I don't think the ponytail is detachable on the Vegas, just to point that out.

http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...d=10577947224& I bought this wig, which is a male version of the Vocaloid Teto, then I cut the long curly bits in the front. I liked the color a lot because it reminds me of the manga.

If you've ever tried taobao before.. this is an awesome wig.
But I already see you have gotten a wig, so sorry. :x

I realized, but that's fine because I will most likely only be using this wig for Hikaru.
