Help with Big Boss - Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes

Hi, everyone! So my boyfriend is a big Metal Gear fan, and he wants to have a costume of Big Boss from Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. He doesn't sew, so I offered to help him with putting it together.

(Sorry I don't have more reference pictures, this is the only one I can find that offers the best view of his outfit. If I find more, I'll add them!)

Now, a lot of the military straps and props I'm not as worried about, those can probably be found at a military surplus store. What I'm wondering is the best way to make the suit proper, and the best materials to use for it. Any suggestions for me to investigate would be helpful.

Well mine is pretty much the same suit (from Peace Walker), and I used 2 Zentai suits sewn together for the layered gray/black look.

Just be sure to get a larger size than you think you need; Mine was too small and it hindered my movement a lot. They don't stretch nearly as much as it seems they should.
