Hi all,

I'm making a slightly modified version of Thor (Marvel Movie version) to be female. I've tried making upper armor out of CelluClay (ended up being too thick and I couldn't put my arms down comfortably) and craft foam.

Any ideas on how I can achieve the look of the scaled armor?

I've been toying around with a Thor costume for awhile and my current plans are to make the chest from expanded PVC foam (Komatex, Sintra all kinds of names for it) and then use a rubber cast sheet of scales to make the sleeves. Pretty much I'd be using 2 methods that I have done previously to make the armor. I have them all detailed on line on my blog if it is any help.

Look on the Tamasoft Pepakura Gallery, I've got all of Thor's stuff on there.

I just did a simple movie Thor for halloween, all out of craft foam. It's very one dimensional because we were working on a deadline but it could easily become more 3d with layers of more foam.
