Got one for you, (that is, if its still on for this year). Its even usually in the Hotel block for Anime Expo. Trust me, it is WORTH IT to get a hotel block room because of the shuttle.

There is a link for my review of the Kawada. the price per night *plus taxes* (This is ballparking it from last year) is 102 dollars for two people (one room). Thats 408 for 4 days. The parking is 22 dollars a day (to park it in the hotel parking lot). The location is awesome because it is only 3 blocks from Japantown and the connected restaurant is OUT OF THIS WORLD. BEST AVO BLT EVER. The desserts were great too! two blocks down is a little taco house that has decent burgers late at night too.

I'm extremely broke myself and I was able to afford it. If you get a hotel not in the hotel block, you are either going to have to use public transportation or park in the convention center. one of my friends stayed at another hotel not in the hotel block and said she paid a lot of money in parking fees.

If you and some friends can split hotel costs, that might make it easier on all of you. Do a group thing.

as a disclaimer there a re probably a lot of people in the same shoes as you are. Im still looking for a place to stay thats cheap, so if youd like to find some people id totally room with you and some others.

You can try Freight's hotel room plan. It's one of the very best deals at AX, and he's been doing this every year at AX for a number of years now.

Ritz Milner is $89 a night - $308 after Tax for 3 Nights. it's good for (Shower/Sleep) parking right next door for $10 a day. 2013 will be my 4th year staying there, it is not the best but cheap. gives you extra money to spend at Con and for Food.

I stayed there last year and we had a roach in the shower and it leaked on the bathroom floor. Also, the management wasn't very helpful when I had an issue. One of my roomates had bugbites during one of the night as well. Its cheaper but not worth it. The room is also too small if you have medium to large sized props.

I wouldn't recommend the Staples Inn. It's not located in a good area of town. (Booking.com won't tell you if the hotel is located in a good area or not.)

"Cheaper" doesn't always translates into "Safer".

I would seriously look into room sharing threads to see if you can find space in room on one of the AX hotels..chances are it'll be a lot cheaper, safer and more convenient as you'll have access to the shuttle system as well. Just because something is cheap does NOT mean it's good

Holy smokes...You are staying at the Millennium Biltmore?

I'm not trying to scare you, but you need to know that that hotel has a reputation for being haunted with ghosts.

Sometimes they would even hold ghost tours there, and ghost hunters would look for ghosts there. (It's actually one of the most haunted hotels in the middle of downtown LA.)

But if ghosts doesn't scare you, and it doesn't bother you if they wake you up at night, then you won't have much of a problem. But it's just FYI.

Actually that's more of a reason for me to stay there. When I was little I used to live in Coronado and I'd always go to the Hotel Del Coronado and sneak up to the rooms and try to find the haunted hotel room. Had a couple of creepy moments, but nothing too paranormal.

If anything, the fact that I really want to see them will keep them away XD.
