Uniform Cloth ? Dafu is this ?
I may sound a little stupid, but I just want to know what is uniform cloth and what it's made of. Like blends and those stuff, and if it's a thick or thin fabric...
Thank you in advance ![]()

What sort of uniform are you going for? Coat? Shirt? Pants?
Some examples here: http://www.armysurpluswarehouse.com/...rs-jacket.html http://www.armysurpluswarehouse.com/...-2-pocket.html. My dad's German army surplus coat is really thick. Army clothes are meant to stand a lot of wear and tear, so erring on the side of really thick, close to canvas, should be good. I'm not really an expert in this field, so take it with a grain of salt. But I hope this helps in any case. |

Um, please disregard that last statement. I should have really read the question well before posting. That's what I get for staying up late *facepalm*
EDIT: meh, it looks like my initial post didn't get posted after all. No matter, it was probably wrong. I mistook uniform cloth to mean Army uniform cloth, which I don't know if that's what you're saying D: Sorry for the confusion guys. Last edited by liyosa : 05-29-2012 at 12:41 AM. Reason: I'm actually really confused now... |

What kind of uniform are you looking to make? School uniforms are different from army fatigues which in turn are different from a waiters togs.

When I first asked at joanns, they pointed me in the cotton direction. Is thinner then duckcloth (or whatever you call that, It's not as heavy as denim), but it's heavier then target bottom weight. Is just a nice thick cotton. Very good for most cosplays

Admittedly this thread is from last year but I'll bite.
When an overseas cosplay seller refers to "uniform cloth" as the fabric used for their costumes, what they mean is a generic poly/cotton blend of low quality that can be used for almost anything in mass produced garment-making. It's not what actual uniforms are made out of, certainly not military or school uniforms.
