Thinner thighs and calves?

Hey everyone. My biggest concern right now is my thighs and calves. How do I get them thinner? Right now, I feel they're too big, and in order to look at all decent crossplaying, I'd need to get rid of the excess fat from my legs. How would I go about doing that? I have 2 and a half months to do so.

Also, any exercises good for slimming the tummy?

Eat less calories than what your body burns.

Ah okay, I have a high metabolism so all I'd really have to do is eat less and exercise more.

Moreso about eating the right things, and doing good cardio. Like rndmguy said; you can't spot reduce on your body, but you can try your best to reduce as much fat, and work on creating quality muscles in those areas! I'd say work on finding a good, healthy diet and work on jogging or biking- both great forms of cardio!

Well, being a skateboarder, would going to the indoor minipipe for a few hours be at all good cardio? If not, how long should a decent jog be?

You can use MyFitnessPal to keep track of calories~ It's free. You can also input what exercises you do, and it will calculate how many calories you need to eat to achieve your goal in a certain amount of time.
Idk, I think it depends on how long you're skateboarding, but in general maybe it's better to err on the side of more cardio.

Any iPhone apps that can track something like that?

Myfitnesspal is an iphone app also! And yeah, skateboarding is probably good cardio? I'd say try out some other cardio techniques; don't stick to solely one!

I'm not finding it on the app store. But yeah, I'm a sponsored skateboarder so in the spring to fall, I'm constantly out skateboarding, but I plan on starting to jog, and I'll be buying a jump rope so if it's raining out, I can jump rope inside, or go to the gym and use their cardio machines. I have actually planned on using the thread on this site called "the 'Knuckle-Headed' Ninja'Workout. It seems like it'd be perfect for my goals.

I'll also be buying a lot more healthy now that I have a better job with more money coming in. Before, I didn't have much, so I literally had to buy to be able to live, so I bought the cheapest stuff I could to fill me up. Gonna start making protein shakes and such too. My room mate is going to help me with that. He's all about the protein drinks on off days from his usual gym exercises.

EDIT: I found one called Calorie Counter & Diet Tracker by MyFitnessPal. Is that the app you were speaking of?

A lot of people forget to mention how muscle can make you look. Toning certain areas can make you look thinner without losing fat. It's a way of spot reducing without actually losing weight. Tightening the muscles will naturally make certain areas smaller.

That's true, Dollicon, but the amount I work my legs during 3 seasons, you'd think my legs would look nice and toned. I weighed myself at the start of last skateboarding season. I weighed aroung 200lbs, by the end of the season, eating normally, skating 6 hours+ a day, depending on the day, removing the rain days, I lost 45lbs. I was down to 155, yet I still feel my legs are bigger than they should be. Skateboarding isn't as great for cardio as I thought it was.

Considering you skate hours a day, I'd say your leg muscles may be too big? Do you do a lot of stretches? Stretching lengthens muscles and you'll appear smaller and less "toned" without losing your muscle mass.

Unfortunately, some people just have large legs. If nothing works, join the club :C
