I've got carpal tunnel pain a LOT. I write, by hand, a lot, embroider and handsew a lot, obviously the computer doesn't help, and in high school I played flute and piano (and just piano in college)... and I won't wear wrist braces, because it impedes my movement way too much. Yup.

My neurologist said the final blow was last year when I sprained my thumb. But 10 years of flute, 6 of cheerleading, sewing, writing, computer time, and multiple injuries pretty much made meant I was going to get carpal tunnel at some point.

I have to wear brace at night for the moment, too keep me from sleeping with my wrist all curled up and squished, which is how I usually sleep. She also recommended it for long drives and when I'm just sitting and reading to keep my wrist in a neutral position.

If there's no improvement I get a cortisone shot in my wrist... Joy.

I have had a glorious week.
First of all, last week I had a mood relapse (I'm pretty darn bipolar) that started with the super fun hypomanic stuff (pills at least stopped it from becoming a full manic episode) and I went impulse shopping and blew all of my money for the month. Then I got hit with the not super fun depressive backlash, so my doctor upped my lithium level and now I'm broke, mildly depressed, and feeling sick. super fun times with Polly "bodici22" Esther.

Brandon and I got the Dragonborn DLC last night, Solstheim is the only place in the entire Skyrim game I've felt genuinely unnerved to be. The entire atmosphere bothers me and the ash spawn really freak me out.

So a vet's office just opened up near us, right across the street from the pet store we use most often. It happens to be run by a woman I met in the one LLL meeting I went to, and she seems pretty cool; they're having an open house on Sunday and I want to stop in, say hi, see whether we should consider going to them. Ponder only went to the vet once after we adopted him, he'll be due for shot boosters soon, and I have no problems with our current vet but also have no problems switching. Penelope needs a specialist since she's considered an exotic, but when I called the office they said they'd see pretty much anything on a well visit basis and refer to specialists as needed.

SHOULD BE. It's great. Brandon, who's played all the prior Elder Scrolls games, got super excited when the music from Morrowind played as you first arrived.

It's kinda funny because the music changes at random so I'll be walking around this creepy ashen island and the Morrowind music is so cheerful when it comes on.

My mom and were talking about the hedgehog Meghan and plan on getting after I move in. She offered to hedgehog sit if we ever need her too, she thinks they are adorable. (I know we could theoretically leave him/her alone for a few days, but they're so temperature sensitive I like knowing someone would be around if something went wrong. The cats and peanut can fend for themselves. In fact, I'm sure Peanut would just eat the cats...)

Meghan's valentines gift came in! I got her the Game of Thrones board game. I ordered it from amazon and felt guilty but the local game store didn't have it and they could order it for me but it wouldn't have been in until after Valentine's Day.

Ooo I've heard good things about that. My friend is the one who buys all the board games but I should really buy some myself. We only see each other at holidays though. I really want to buy RISK legacy but don't know who to play it with since its the kind of game where once you start with a group of people you have to finish with them. I might just have to press gang my housemates into playing with me, they're living here for another year or so, so they can't get out.



Now this is part where Ryan moans about not having a girlfriend, or rather moans about people telling me to get a girlfriend. Like even my Mum now is asking. I mean I'd love to have one but I'm not gonna go out hunting for one because that just makes me fucking depressed trying to date. Then I'll be miserable and I'll have to inflict that misery on others. It's been so long I don't even know what I'd do anymore, frankly I don't even care about romance or sex. I'd settle for just having a friend willing to curl up with me on the sofa and watch films...
