I've seen all the SAO episodes once they were aired last year, and started reading the LNs about mid January. I'm about 1/3 through the first Phantom Bullet novel (GGO), and I was strangely attracted towards the main antagonist Death Gun. His cosplay seems pretty simple with a sinister mask with two guns and a long coat, so I think it should be a pretty easy for a first time cosplay maker. Since the Phantom Bullet novel wasn't made into an Anime, there aren't many reference pictures for him:

Also, since not many SAO fans have read the LNs, I don't expect many to recognize him. That is fine though, as long as I make a cosplay scary and intimidating enough to get uneasy glances my way. I really feel like I could get into character too c:

Now...I plan to buy airsoft guns and mod them to the LN's specs. I have no idea how to get started with creating a mask like that. I want to include the glowing red eyes and metallic grungy look that he has. The coat looks to be simple, but then again I've never worked with fabric before so that may present a challenge. Any advice?

I've read a bit of Phantom Bullet and I'd say go for it!!! That'd be so awesome!

What I'm getting at s, he paid for a commission..THAT person should have done better. I am by no means a costumer, and I got it looking more accurate. I'm saying as a commissioner who clames to make costumes, they should be able to produce something better then I can. I think he makes a great Kirito, but a commissioner should produce at least a little better work..It looks rushed, which with our con still just under 2 months away (more then 2 at that time) they shouldn't have needed to rush it.

So I might be adding the wings to my Lisbeth cosplay, but I'm not sure how to do them. Maybe clear acrylic sheeting? Any advice?

Hm, yeah looks like clear acrylic is the way to go, some options for the lines:

- etched using a dremel etcher or similar tool
- translucent white paint
- cutting the lines out of frosted privacy window film

The more I think about it, the more I like the 3rd option, if you sandwich the frosted film lines between thin acrylic sheets.

Got the little armor-ish thing on the shirt done..Basically all I need now is the boots, making the cuffs on the boots (basically the same things as the arm band lol), finish the shoulder armor (started already), style my wig (hasn't arrived yet. Should be soon), and finish my sword..

Styled my wig today. I know the anime is MUCH more..Um..Looking like triangle spikes..But I wanted a more natural look..Anyway, this is all my costume so far.

Klein progress, I am ALMOST done. Currently in the process of doing the right shoulder's detail work and then just need to add collar's to the undershirt and the robe and I'll be all set for KamiCon next week. Then need to make the shoes and compete at Momocon.

Klein in all his goodness. I need to get a full body once my bestfriend gets back from her weekend getaway at her boyfriends.

And here's a close-up of the Right shoulder armor, the most painstaking part of the entire costume. That's 12 1.5x1.5 styrene squares, each with a 1x1 square piece of fom underneath it, and each of those with a .5x.5 velcro as well as 12 .5x.5 velcro sewn to the robe.
