Losing pieces of cosplays or cosplay accessories that you've organized at least a half a dozen times.

I swear every time I start trying to plan and pre-pack for conventions, I can't find anything.

Not only is that wig your personal property, but there's also legitimate health and hygiene concerns. Sharing wigs is a good way to spread lice, ringworm and scabies.

When people sort of demand people buy their cosplays. A friend of mine made a post in a local cosplay group on Facebook to sell her old cosplays. After the post was up for a few days she made another post saying "PEOPLE BUY MY COSPLAYS!" Well, that was rude and unnecessary. Next time I see her, I'll bring it up. It's the sort of thing I'd rather talk to her about in person.

A couple things;
When people say "you shouldn't/can't cosplay that person because you just don't look like him/her". If I looked like the person I wouldn't cosplay them. Does that mean African American's basically have 5 people to choose from? It angers me to no end when people say such close-minded and shallow things..

When people get into superiority complexes over their handmade costumes. I realize you hand-made it. That's amazing, kudos to you for sticking to such a difficult task. However, you are /not/ a better cosplayer than me because I bought mine. I am not good with my hands. I can't sew worth a bean. I've tried it before, and I just couldn't do the character justice. But me buying my costume doesn't make me an "inferior" cosplayer.

Contests/giveaways and print selling trends on Facebook.
Elitist, people who critic other people for any reason beyond when requested.
Beginner cosplayers constantly asking for advice on something without even searching for the answer.
When people ask a bunch of times, "Is there going to be anyone cosplaying from XXX" when clearly someone has already asked that a few posts before or that there is a scheduled photoshoot for that.

When someone keeps pestering you about making a super-detailed cosplays for him/er, when you both know that s/he can't afford to pay for them. I'm too nice to point out the glaringly obvious and s/he's too proud to admit it.

Which leads to an increasingly awkward game of where s/he goes: "Since I'm spending so much money on it, it has to be PERFECT." And then goes over every single detail with a fine-toothed comb, asking how much each part will be and could you possibly do a shortcut here or there to save money, but still have it PERFECT?

Eventually, I figure s/he's given up, but then... "Hey! I found a costume that might be cheaper! How much for this super-detailed cosplay?" And the game starts again.

*sigh* If you're going to be so nitpicky over something AND are so concerned about price, maybe you need to learn to sew and make it yourself?

Having all this motivation to work on a cosplay, but not having any of the materials to actually start it. I'm super excited to start on a cosplay, but I don't have any of the fabric for it yet. Hurry up and have a sale on the fabric that I need, Hancocks! (; ̄Д ̄)

Which brings me to my other pet peeve~ finally getting all the materials you need, but losing all your motivation to work on it. Thank goodness the con isn't til April. ( ~ 。~ )

Siblings thinking it is okay to take cosplay supplies without asking. >_<

My 8 year old sister decided by herself it was a-okay to use some fabric from my stash. Fabric I was planning on using for artwork Morgiana. Fabric I had only enough left that I could make the top with. Ugh.

Having my sewing room in the unfinished, drafty basement of the house. I want to work on my Cosplay, and my current project is so close to being completed. Like, it'll take me 3 hours of sitting down and just sewing it.

But it's 30 degrees outside, and only about 50-60 in the basement. Even with my space heater, the thought of going down into the freezing basement makes me cringe, and lose all motivation to work. Arg.

I think my biggest pet peeve about cosplaying is all the slut shamers who participate in it.

People have every right to make a costume as "skanky" as they want. It isn't your place to judge people for how much skin they decide to show (unless it's obscene and they wear it in public, where there could be children and such around). And I've met so many cosplayers who look down on other cosplayers for deciding to interpret their character in a slightly different way.

A cosplay that shows skin is just as good as a cosplay that doesn't

what matters is the level of creativity involved, not how "skanky" you perceive the costume to be

I really hate that "costume-y" fabric people use. It looks a bit shiny and it thin and flimsy, and it makes your handmade costume look like it was bought as Party City. I would understand if it was cheaper, but it's actually more expensive then the better looking plain cotton fabrics!

This. I made a solid cosplay plan a couple of days ago for what I would shoot for this year, and am totally ready to work on it, but I can't because of money and my constant fight on what to work on first (wig for a character I'm not doing until June, or a plushie for a character I'm doing in May. I say wig because there's no telling whether it'll go out of stock or not, but at the same time I want to work in chronological order.)

At the moment..not having a costume for a certain character. I'm getting a lot of cool props by the coincidence of I like things that will work for Ciel, but I don't have a full costume I can use to do a cool photoshoot. D:
Also...wanting to do photoshoots but being miles from photographers who would do decent shots without charging ridiculous prices. All I want in life, man ;-;

Cosplay deadline coming up but allergies are acting up and I don't want to disinfect all my cosplay stuff again... So more rush jobs T_T~

Also, awkward group photoshoots where the only character missing is the main character. Can't help it much though since I can't shove random person into a cosplay...
