LKD: That dress is really beautiful!
Seems like everybody went back to work... I've passed the last two days working on Merida's dress, now I have a kind of war with the sleeves (I'm making the dress and the blouse separately).

Aimee-- Ugh, I know, Arda wigs are so expensive. @.@ They're gorgeous though, and totally worth it! I personally hope that they have a sale soon too, there are a bunch of wigs I want to buy!
Aeviking-- I totally know that feeling, hahaha. Sleeves are evil creatures! Speaking of sleeves, though, I finished my Ariel sleeves! All that's left now is some detailing, hemming the skirt, and ironing, yay!

@ ModernPrincess: Wow great job on Charlotte so far!!!! It's so impressive!!
@ Aeviking: At least you are making progress. I hope you are able to figure out the sleeves, I can see how that would be a pain.

Decided I'm doing Vanellope next!
Finished my hoodie (though I'm trying to decide how to do the licorice pull strings still). Gonna order some microfiber tights from welovecolors, and when I go to Joanns next I'll be sure to cash in a coupon to get some brown casa satin. ![]() Pretty excited. I already have a black wig so I figured I can put it up in a ponytail when I need it and I'll use eyelash glue to put candy on it (it's easy and gentle to peel off). Since there's a gathering at the end of the month so she might be done by then! It feels good to be working on something again. ![]() And if anyone's interested I made some Wreck-It Ralph/Sugar Rush accessories and put a few of them on my Etsy~ http://www.etsy.com/shop/MulletOver?ref=si_shop

@ aimee:
Unfortunately, I don't own a computer. The library does have a few Mac's though, I could see if they have something pre-loaded/loaded on there. :3@ Seifer-sama and FuriePhoenix: Thank you! <3

OHMYGOD YOU GUYS. I GOT A BRAND NEW SEWING MACHINE TODAY. HOLY CRAP. My parents let me use what was left of my student loan money to get it. I CAN'T EVEN. It is sooo nice, especially in comparison to my sad little Bernina. Like, WOW. This thing is professional grade! It has so many awesome features and it runs like a dream. The stitch quality is wonderful and when you backstitch- even if you completely let go of the fabric- THE DAMN THING STITCHES PERFECTLY IN-LINE WITH YOUR SEAM. LIKE, WTH. HOW EVEN. Seriously, my little Bernina feels like a TOY in comparison to this! I feel like I am really going to be able to get stuff done with this baby! I won't break down in tears or have as many rage-fueled outbursts as a result of a crappy machine that doesn't cooperate. I'm SO EXCITED to put it to good use! AHHHH. Okay, I'm done obsessing for now.
For the record, it's a Janome Memory Craft 6600 P, if you're in the market for a new machine and want to see what I'm raving about. :P In other news, not much progress here. I have been working on my friend's Catching Fire dress, but I need more materials, so I will probably pick Rapunzel back up tomorrow and see how much I can get done with my new baby. XD Faraday- I LOVE the Sugar Rush accessories! Also, good luck in the Iron Wig competition- I hope you go far! LKD- I LOVE the Tink dress! Soo sparkly!

Aeviking- ugh I hate sleeve I always leave them for last. I rather hem a million circle skirts xD can't wait to see your Merida! For mine, I'm making the underdress sleeve less and incorporating the sleeve into the over dresses sleeves so it won't be so bulky and confusing >< Aimee- I'm so jelly that you can use such a bright red >< looks so horrible against my skin tone bleach bath plzFurie- aaw don't be x3 I've made 9 Tink dresses since I've started sewing @-@ that's more than the years I've been sewing. Unfortunately, I can't until like two weeks from now when she's free and get the rest of the supplies till then so I can't finish it in the time I wanted to >< oh well, no biggie since the actual deadline is 7 months from now haha I just want it done! I have a Tink gig this Saturday but I don't have a dress for myself xD I'm going to spend this coming week making one, yay Tenth dress! XDD I'm going to work on my Merida belt this week too :3 oh I got my wig in the mail a few days ago and went crazy xD http://elkaydee.tumblr.com/image/43045021398 And some insane gifs of it xD http://gifyo.com/elkaydee/7770681/ http://gifyo.com/elkaydee/7770692/ http://gifyo.com/elkaydee/7770739/

LKD- The lining just wont match up with the main fabric no matter how I do it, so its really frustrating me. I haven't touched it in days, and just gonna let mom figure it out and make it for me. Think I might just let mom make all my costumes from now on actually... =(, on a brighter note, love your merida wig an those gifs, very amusing!

Ae- it's an eBay wig. It's labeled as a Merida or a brave wig o.< I forget. It needs a ton of work though. I was worried at first that I'd need to sew more wefts but as time goes by, the poofier it gets o-0 I want to sharpie some stands,,the highlights are a bit too traffic cone orange for my liking
Furie- I usually sew the top and then the points, cut those out, clip the seams, and then flip it through the sides and finish those ends with my serger. Sometimes I get lining up issues but it somehow works out xD depending on the fabric like if it droops or has a bit of stretch I top stitch the points Don't give up! My first Tink dress never saw the light of day xD it looked like I was wearing a green towel around my boobs EDIT! Tink shoes =D ![]()

LKD: I think that happens with all Merida wigs.
Yesterday, I finished the sleeves (yay!) and the lineal embroidery of Rapunzel's skirt, so now I'll have to fill in the drawings (it's hard to explain, I'll try to upload some photos this afternoon).

I prefer her the way she looked in the concept arts.

I'll be posting Ariel pics really soon! Unfortunately I didn't get all that many at Katsucon, but it's at least something!

FuriePhoenix, don't give up! definitely get your mom to help you. But sewing takes practice before you can get the hang of it. My first attempts were crappy and it probably took me a couple years before I got really decent, but now I love sewing! So if you want to, don't let a few misfires get in your way. Maybe take a sewing class or have your mom or someone who sews really well help you learn.
