Instead of finishing my dress this weekend I remade the shirt. I'm still not happy how the collar is sitting (it's flat but it feel bulky) but IT'S DONE! Them puff sleeves of dome hand stitched and all.

Fortunately l got the bodice stitch up last night for the dress in the last 3 hours before bed and made the yellow bias tape. (tape took 1 hour to make)
Let see how fast I can whip the jumper/dress up. >_<

I might be able to come Sunday so I'm thing Merida then.

Just have a velcro strip to attach for Quorra, annnnd I decided to try for a more description-accurate Molly Millions top and possibly holster. I have today and tomorrow evening to de-sleeve a pullover, add two decorative zippers, and chop the hem into a midriff, and all by hand. Hope I can do it in time!

Totally excited! costume almost done

A question: are masquerade costumes fine to be worn all day and then to the masq or is that just not really done?

There is no rule against it at all, though I personally like to wait until at least Saturday afternoon before changing into my masq costume, unless I have a shoot or group event that it is needed for. Just gives a little more of a surprise factor to the audience when they see something on stage that they hadn't seen all day long.
But that is personal preference. As I said, at this con, unless the rules changed this year, there is no law against wearing your masq costume around all day.

I did that last year and will do this year, mostly because I don't have a hotel room. And changing into my masquerade costume is a two-person job (and said other person is my boyfriend, so yeah, see how well that would go without a hotel room?) so I'll just be wearing it all day/evening.

Aww that sucks!! I can't wait to see your Chii though, I always love Chii cosplay even if I didn't read most of the manga... oop!

I spent last nigh hand stitching just the arm holes of the jumper. Not happy with that being the only thing I got done.

If I'm super lucky I'll get the skirt done tonight. Then the next night with be the zipper and bow.

I need to style my wig and make an apron as well as find shoes. But I'm only doing Sat/Sun so I have a little extra time thankfully.
