Hey fellow Game of Thrones fans and costume enthusiasts!

If you aren't aware of the Ice and Fire Convention coming up in April next year, well, you need to be! As far as I know this is probably the only GOT con around, and it's being held at an actual castle (masquerading as a sweet B&B). I'm excited about it, and just wanted to pass on the word over here. So far we have karaoke and a feast and gaming definitely lined up, and the more the merrier. 8D Hope some folks from coscom consider attending!

Yay! GoT! So, I really want to cosplay as Cersei, and do her beautiful gold corset. I'm just not sure how to build it. I was thinking that Wonderflex might be a good medium, but I'm not sure that would work. Thoughts?

Hi again! Last issue, which isn't an issue really, just wondering about length of wig for Sansa.

I was going to go with "Cheapest" but they are both the same price. Should I go long, even though the shorter one /looks/ as long as the TV show's actress' hair.

I'd love to go to something like that, but I'm still pretty new to the series and having some serious trouble focusing on one character to cosplay.

Probably hard to tell, but the pic below is actually NOT of Emilia Clarke, it's of me cosplaying Daenerys:

All jokes aside, I went pretty all-out for this trans-gender Targaryen costume.
The whole costume is based on the descriptions of Daenerys from the novels, not the show.
- Hair like threads of silver and gold spun together.
- Violet eyes.
- Dressed in Qartheen manner: one breast bared from robes.

Did the hair by buying a silvery-white wig, then spraying with blonde-gold hair spray, lightly all-over, then stronger in some streaks.
Eyes are UV Violet contacts, bought online.
Clothing is just a girl's toga bought at a costume store.

The difficult part was the dragon, which I searched many toy stores for and couldn't find a cheap, suitably sized one. So I went for a pterodactyl toy instead.

Also, yes didn't bother to shave, cos I figured it's funnier this way. :P

Oooh my goodness, so many Daenerys' lol. I actually m thinking of cosplaying Margaery Tyrell. However I want to base what I wear on one her TV outfits and I don't want to be a burrito 0:

But we'll see what they dress her in in season 3.

yeah, as a hardcore book fan, I've decided to just ignore GoT versions, the show's a real hit and miss with me.

I just look at it as a very similar but separate story.

I think that like, 90% of the costumes they design are gorgeous. They just happen to dress Margaery like a burrito lol.

Psyched to see some of you at the con in April! It'll be me and a friends first event of any sort like this. I'm like a month into making my costume and its going decent. I'm trying to go as theon greyjoy from season 2 in the crazy rusted iron islands armor. If anyone has any suggestions for the cloak he wears thatd be cool. I don't have any reference pictures on me :/. Also toying with making a young Robert baratheon durin the rebellion. Ive already got the warhammer from valyrian steel :/

Ah man, I'm considering doing Theon as well. When you finish your costume I think I'm going to have a few questions for you.

OMG there is really to be a convention just dedicated to ASoIaF/GoT? Ok, but Ohio's a little bit far away anyway ^^''.

Meanwhile I have more or less decided to cosplay Young Griff for sure now and already skimmed through the parts in A Dance With Dragons again, in which he is mentioned. Unfortunately it's not much, but it'll serve as a base. Most likely going to choose blue hair over silver or there won't even be a slight chance for anyone to recognise the char at all. (Don't want to be mistaken for Rhaegar or Viserys afterall.)

Besides it's still kinda strange for me that the series is that popular now. Feels somehow sad and somehow epic at the same time.

the more iron born the better IMO lol. But like i said this is my first time doing anything like this, including building my costume. so idk if im the best person to ask. My breastplate is coming out ok for a first project but i havent even started on the clothing part yet . And by ok i meen ok lol. not like some of the crazy armor i see in other con pictures. allthough im considering using some worbla or wonderflex and see if i can make it better.
