Kigurumi or Coveralls?

I'm planning on doing a Yu-Gi-Oh costume, but I'm having a hard time deciding which route to go about it.
Here's the card: Alligator's Sword

Originally I was going to do a Kigurumi out of fleece, but now I'm starting to wonder if it's a good idea at all.
Most Kirgurumi patterns don't have prominent legs, and even the ones that do sure don't wear all this armor or belts around their waists (though I was going to make the armor out of cloth). And besides all that, Alligator's Sword has a thin body.

But a really thin Kirgurumi would be coveralls wouldn't it?

What do you all think? Have you seen any Kirgurumis do all this? Are some things not meant to be Kigurumis? I could always make the coveralls out of fleece and a size too large.
