I like the Urban Decay Flash (actually Underland from the Alice in Wonderland set, but same color as Flash). I use primer, base layer of cream/tan then add the other colors on top, all applied with a damp brush.

Kind of hard to see the purple in this pic, but it's on the outer edges (not cosplay pic, just experimenting with purple and teal)

I also used the same purple in this youtube vid (lighting is dark at first, go about 23 sec in)

Good luck!

MAC released a new palette in the Archie's Girls collection that has a redder based violet which might do the trick. I agree with everyone else about finding a purple base, and mixing up the colors you want. Kat Von D also has some VERY pigmented purples, but I'm not sure what your budget is, as they may be too expensive. You could always take a trip to Sephora or Ulta and just swatch the sh*t out of everything they have until you find something that matches your reference picture.

Work in Progress:
Rei (genderbend)-Free! [90%]
Momoi Satsuki-KnB [100%]
Nora Valkyrie-RWBY [60%]

Upcoming Cons:
Anime North
Anime Expo
Gen Con

I've tried the Tattoo stuff in Painted Purple and it went really faded on me. I actually lucked out by using Mehron Paradise in Mauve. Seriously, I'm beginning to think I have to go full-on face paint to have something vibrant enough.

I will definitely try the Coastal Scents palette, though.
