Greetings c:

Hello all!
I'm quite excited that I've finally joined Cosplay.com. I have been on this website many of times, but this is the first time I've had guts to actually press the register button -.-"
This is my third year cosplaying. I'll be attending Anime North and will be going as Ririchiyo Shirakiin (demon form) from Inu x Boku SS. This is the first time I'll be making my costume instead of pulling whatever was in my closet
However, I've had this question bothering me. I've gotten new glasses; big, bulky Ray-Ban ones, and I was wondering on whether to take them off while cosplaying or to keep them on. What do you think?

Hey Deanie, glad you've decided to join us. Welcome!

There are two things you can do if you're blind like me. The first is to switch to contacts for the convention, which is my route. The second is to skip poking yourself in the eye and wear your glasses around, but take them off for pictures and stuff. Either way is fine.

Thanks!
I think I'll go with taking off my glasses for pictures, since contacts and I don't get along.

Welcome to cos.com

You could always wear contacts if you want or take them off for pictures they enhance your eyes and are really pretty so it really is up to you

Welcome to cosplay.com! I second the suggestion of just taking off the glasses when people ask for pics (:

I used to have trouble with lenses, so never bothered. But after wearing glasses for about 5 years, I decided to give it a go. I actually needed a special lens type called a toric lens, for my specific eye issue, and I had no problems with them at all.

Could be you just didn't get the right type of lens for you. There are permanent ones (that you take out and clean each day) weeklies or monthlies (that you throw away at the end of the month) etc etc... most contact lens companies will let you order a trial pair so you can see what's comfortable. So it may be worth asking your optician to recommend some different brands and types. Hope this helps, and welcome!
