Hey Nikki, if you don't mind me asking, how did you make Judal's ponytail? I've been trying to wrap my head around how to keep the balls from slipping around and I'm drawing a blank.
I may have asked this before but it's 1 am and I can't recall.

I bought mine on ebay. I'm not that good at styling wigs. There are little balls of hair fiber stuffed inside and those like to slip out a lot. Right now I am just hair spraying the crap out of them so they stay closed. It works a lot better than without the hair spray but it isn't perfect.

Ah, alright. Thanks for the input, I'll try to avoid anything that might fall out.
My plan was to string up styrofoam balls and small beads, alternating to give it the right spacing, then putting hair over it and wrapping a bit of black tape or something (moar gold?) over the spacers... Then spraying the hell out of it. The bottom part? lolnoidea. :D

That would work. I will probably end up either getting a new wig or remaking the pony tail soon ish. I would like for it to stay a bit better and look smoother.

Hi~
I was planning on cosplaying Alibaba later on in the year by myself, but I was finally able to get my sister to read it; she said cosplay was a sure thing that very same day. And this was all at the beginning of the week! Unfortunately, we have a con in a week that's holding a Magi photoshoot, so we're a little bummed that we won't be able to make it in time, but at least we know there are like-minded cosplayers out there it'll be fun to see everyone. So now she's wanting to be my Aladdin, and we're also gonna do Sinbad and Jafar; and I'd like to do Hakuryuu if I can. Judal is tempting... But I digress! For Sinbad, I was planning on making at least some of the jewelry and stuff to make it cheaper and lighter (especially his headdress), but I was wondering about realism. Does anyone have any tips on how I could make paperclay, foamboard, or types of fabric have a similar sheen to actual jewelry? It would also help for another costume of ours involving armor. As an aside, I'm loving all the Morgiana cosplayers around here! Along with everyone else, of course.  Great to find you all here~

^Well, you can get the sheen by using clear nail polish. It would give the jewels a bit of shine to them.

Hi everyone~ Newly just caught up with the manga and will be cosplaying from the series in the future. : D Had a hard time choosing between Yamuraiha, Morgiana and Tidus haha~ (wish I had the face to pull off Sinbad LOL /favorite character)
Just wanted to ask if anyone has any tips for making Yamuraiha's hat? I know it's just a regular witch hat, but how to give it that bumpy look that Yamu has? Just use interfacing? Thanks in advance! (:

Hello~ So since I finish Sinbad, I'm now going to work on Koubun Ka but I need some help/
Does anyone know what that thing he wears in the middle of his body is called? I know the outfit is Chinese inspired and I'm pretty sure it was a IRL counterpart but I just don't know Chinese clothing all that well.

I'm sorry I really don't know much about clothing at all, let alone Chinese clothing ^_^;

I'm not sure if I should paint it black or leave it the way it is. The color goes with the rest of his outfit so I'm not sure =/ |
