I'm a D myself and find that I almost always have to bind. The only time I don't is if I'm crossplaying for a long period of time I tend to not (my shirts are loose enough that I can get by) just for comfort. I'm cheap and use ACE bandages so they can get uncomfortable some times. :/

For my part, I always crossplay without binding, but it's because there's nothing to bind, huh.

I actually don't wear anything underneath if the cosplay I'm doing has an outer jacket. But if it's something that's only one layer, then I wear a sports bra.

I wish I didn't have to bind. It's not that I have a lot to hold down, it's just a lot of, eh, loose skin. Wish there was a way to get rid of it.

But I always bind, even if I'm wearing a bulky jacket. I'm just the weirdo who thinks 'if I need to take it off, I need to still have a working cosplay'. I've been told not to bother binding at all, but... I don't buy it.

I have like no boobs but I have a fat ass and a small waist.

For my chest I use an ace bandage, and since I'm paranoid I put a hair clip and sports bra to hold it in place. Works well for me!

For the lower half of my body I have to wear baggy things or it's a dead giveaway that I'm a girl.

F/G cup here (thus I can never ever get away with not binding) and I use the tri top from Underworks, which works very well for me. I used ace bandages once and I passed out at the con later that day. I really, really would advise against ace bandages. Use a proper binder or a tighter sports bra.

Since ace bandages are such a bad idea (which I was already aware of) I went looking and found a nice way to make your own binder that's a good deal safer. And it's significantly cheaper than buying one. I plan on making up one either this weekend or next.

I'm a D cup, so I sort of have to or else it looks pretty loony when I'm crossplaying. Seconding all those who say Underworks binder shirts. I haven't gotten around to actually buying one for myself, but two of my friends have bought them -- two of my friends with larger chests than me, even -- and they work pretty damn well at flattening you out from what I've seen.

I do crossplay, and I am careful when it comes to binding.
for us females that part of our body is very delicate so, if I bind I dont over do it.
I used to bind myself with "bandages and even duck tape"
which was when I started to crossplay back in '09.
but, a long way I learned that it was dangerous and just becuase of having a flat chest for a certain character, would take someone to the ER. Im grateful that is not my case. But i've read and heard of girls who have hurt themselves by binding and it cuts down their air and crushes their lungs. I am not here to scare anyone, but just to warn everyone to be careful when binding. since it can be dangerous if not do it correctly.

the way I go about binding now a days is i have a compression shirt. its sleeveless and its very comfy. its skin color and under that i wear a sports bra also skin color. which they are more firm and without any strings. that usually does the trick.

i would say it kinda of distributes the chest area evently and there are no marks/cuts around your back and sides. I know how painful that can be, and specially in a convention you have to constantly check to see if they are okay or have fallen off.

well that's my way of doing the "transformation" and I hope it helps.

When I cosplay Norway, I will definitely have to bind. My chest isn't that big (34/36 B) ((ok maybe there are)) but they will be slightly noticable even though his outfit will be a bit baggy on me. I'll have to check the "less butt and hips" thread because I do have ass (there I said it xD) even though I look petite.

I'm really flat, so I wear one of the really small skin-tone bras that usually girls wear when they're around middle-school age, lmao. I have a friend who got this really nice binder for about $30 online though, and it makes her chest completely flat--and she's Dcup haha~~

I ate an entire mega ramen bowl while wearing a binder. It flattens the girls, AND still somehow moves with you.

EDITED: Here's a pic of how the binder works for another character I'm playing this weekend at the ren. faire. You can see it really flattens me out. The character went over amazingly with everyone, and I was the most comfortable I'd ever been at a faire. Ever.
