Here is a photo of me taken with my iPhone, trying to be more menacing than the Terminator behind me.

That's what I've been doing. The sun is finally starting to come out so I can start going out more. I've been thinking about trying to take a photography class

Some great lighting can be found when the Sun is not out. Cloudy days can give softer, more flattering lighting than direct sunlight.

Here is a photo I took just before the Sun came up from behind the mountains. The morning mist added a lot to the depth and beauty.

This photo was taken in the mid-afternoon, the same day. The clouds did gave such a nice light in the people and the scenery.

Both shots are from a movie "SKETCH", I am doing cinematography for in the Philippines.

Neither. It was in front of a bar, at night, in the Philippines.

Awesome photos everyone! People have been busy since I last been here and now that the con season is in session, hahaha! I don't have any new photos, so I'll just say something old and non-cosplay again. Hahaha. Sorry, I'll have more cosplay photography around April.

This is a great point. MORE light isn't necessarily BETTER light. Direct sun is one of the least desirable scenarios for portraits:
- It gives hard shadows, generally unflattering on faces
- It causes the scene to have a very wide "dynamic range" - that is, any white or shiny areas that the sun is hitting are going to be SUPER bright, and any dark areas that are in the shadows are going to be extremely dark. This is a tough scenario for even the best camera.
- Most importantly, direct sunlight causes the subject to squint and scrunch up their face. Not a good look on anyone!

Updated on older image but this site won't let me change the old photo out for the new one. I didn't do a direct image link because it's an older picture and I might have even linked it before.

@Surf-sama, that looks so cool! The motion, the cars, everything!
@Tyke Jack, I like the blue tint and the clarity of the new one a lot!
