Nadeshicon, the Japanese cultural festival of Quebec City
Duality: A realm combining culture and pop culture
To all lovers of Japanese culture! THE spring event of 2013 is Festival Nadeshicon. During this 4th edition, members of Club Animé Québec (official Laval University student association since 1992) will organize a variety of activities to share their love of Japanese culture with the Quebec community.
This year we've got all bases covered: special guests, martial art demonstrations, traditional dances, food tasting, calligraphy, cosplay, a masquerade, anime and documentary screenings as well as live performances, panelists, dealers, artists and much more.
The festival is proud to present many interesting guest speakers. Tiffany Grant
, our North American guest of honor, will be on site to discuss her vast experience in the anime industry and much more, accompanied by Matt Greenfield
, a head figure that brought many of our beloved anime series at our at our doorsteps dubbed in English. There will be a fashion show
displaying the evolution of Japanese fashion from traditional clothes to the many diverse styles created by the different subcultures (such as Harajuku). This will be followed by a display of clothing by Putré-Fashion
, an alternative line of clothes created by a Quebec designer. Love Cosplay Magazine
will also be present to discuss his magazine and photograph cosplayers all weekend long. A return from Hoshi☆Furu
, a J-Rock inspired band from Toronto will certainly liven up the mood. Mel Gosselin
